Endowed with a voice that seamlessly soars from heart melting softness one minute to jaw dropping power the next, Gaftarnicks' rich tones are so unmistakable and not readily forgotten. Already established as a solo performer, this last year has seen her piece together a band with a wealth of talent, bringing new dimensions to her sound. So rich and eclectic are her influences that its' hard to tie her down to one genre. Elements of hip hop, middle eastern, soul, blues and folk blended in with an incisive, irrefutable directness fuse together to become something unique, contemporary, uplifting and above all, poignantly true. -

Influences
Here's just a few that have influenced me over the years but all are subject to change as there are so many talented Artist's out there that I'm only just getting to hear now....... Firstly Sheryl Crow, when I heard her singing and saw playing guitar, I thought-I'll do that!! Lauryn Hill-influenced more style to my own voice in the early years. Donny Hathaway is my favourite voice of all. He does something to me when I hear his voice. His soul oozes out with every word. Bob Marley, D'Angelo, Jill Scott, Jaguar Wright, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Neptunes, Dr Dre, Black Eyed Peas, Mary J Blige, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, James Brown, Beatles, Sade, Roberta Flack, John Legend, Ray Charles, Dr Dre, Eminem, Missi Elliotte, Zero7, Aaliyah, Ashanti, Rolling stones, The Doors, Elvis, Bill Withers, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Sam Cooke, Ann Sexton, Marva Whitney, Lyn Collins, Scott Mathews... -

Describing Hayley as inspirational, refreshing and unique, is without doubt accurate, but this only touches the surface of a musical talent whose depth at times seems immeasurable. With a voice which can melt the hardest heart to piercing solid granite rock without ever losing control or technique, the Leeds-based singer-songwriter has established a fan-base far beyond her home city. Having been recognised as one of Leeds’ favourite solo performers, she has now hand-picked a group of musicians, who allow her the freedom to express her rich talent, and stretch her musical boundaries further and further with all genres included, from acoustic, soul, jazz to blues, folk and middle eastern, all are given the special Hayley Gaftarnick sound. Her drive and enthusiasm for “live” music and giving artists at the grass-roots level, an opportunity to perform at her various promotions, while refraining from stealing the spotlight, again provides evidence that here is a promoter/artist who promotes for all the right reasons.
