"Hayley is a real singer-songwriter. That's what I like, musicians who aren't manufactured, who slog their way up the ladder and who don't sell out in order to do it. Hayley hasn't quite made it to the top of the tree yet but she's a prime example of someone who will, and she's hitting the scene full pelt"
Urban Life Magazine
“Live, this singer-songwriter is one part Hoxton hipster in her neckerchief and brown vest to two parts folk traditionalist thanks to her lilting voice which exudes a composite of sorrow and desire, like a love starved Joni Mitchell”
Uncut Magazine
“A sweet and natural way with a sparkling tune”
Independent On Sunday
“Hayley Hutchinson understands her craft sufficiently to recognise how true a record can ring when completely unencumbered by knowing artifice.”
The Guardian
“It is no exaggeration to suggest that Hayley Hutchinson is perhaps one of the most impressive and talented singer-songwriters to have come onto this particular strand of the music scene for a long time"

Hayley Hutchinson Biography...
Hayley Hutchinson is a British singer-songwriter blessed with an exceptional voice, a remarkable songwriting talent and a fierce sense of independence.
Born in Northumbria in 1981, much of Hayley’s childhood was spent living on a croft in Scotland where she taught herself to sing by harmonising to the outlaw country music of Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark.
As a teenager she moved to York where the likes of Neil Young, Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons inspired her to pick up a guitar and write her own songs. Early EPs showcased her crystalline voice and swiftly brought her to the attention of BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris.
This encouragement led Hayley to self-finance her debut album ‘Independently Blue’. Recorded in York with Fraser Smith, ‘Independently Blue’ is a dazzling collection of haunting folk lullabies and rootsy acoustic pop that merited a Guardian Single of the Week, extensive BBC Radio 2 airplay and caused Uncut magazine to herald her as a ‘love-starved Joni Mitchell’.
Following this, Hayley toured relentlessly supporting the likes of Richard Thompson, Ray Davies and Kurt Wagner and was handpicked to open the acoustic stage at the Glastonbury festival.
In 2006 Hayley returned to the studio to record the bluegrass influenced ‘Held To Ransom’ EP that further illustrated her deep musical heritage and coincided with Hayley’s first appearance at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
The rest of the year saw Hayley spend an increasing amount of time in America where she recorded the song ‘Pocket Full Of Stars’ with Nine Black Alps for the Oscar nominated film ‘Surf’s Up' and formed the rock band The Sorry Kisses with Sam Forrest of Nine Black Alps and Micah Calabrese, formerly of Giant Drag.
Upon returning to England in 2007, Hayley teamed up with the acclaimed singer-songwriter Iain Archer to co-produce her second album ‘Love Songs For The Enemy’. Released on her own label the album promises to highlight Hayley Hutchinson as a major talent and a songwriting force to be reckoned with.
