Three years in the making, Hayley Jensen’s self-funded and self-penned debut album, NOTE TO SELF, is released on her own newly-formed record label, WHITE DOVE MUSIC, and has taken her on a journey that few would have the confidence to contemplate - let alone embrace ...
Since placing 4th in the 2004 IDOL series, she’s worked, hands-on, with every facet of her debut album - right down to funding every single bit of it herself and road-testing the songs along the way by playing live around Australia and 15 hot-spots in the Middle East.
In September 2006 Hayley released her first single, the Alive EP, single-handedly from her lounge-room - selling, packing and dispatching it to retail herself. Surprisingly, it debuted at 20 on the ARIA Charts and 2 on the AIR Charts where it sustained a Top 15 position for 7 consecutive weeks.
Hayley has been singing and performing for as long as she cares to remember and started out performing original compositions with her acoustic trio around Canberra where she lived at the time. From intimate gigs to wowing thousands at stadium events she was all-the-while studying a double degree in Economics and Management at University and attending the ANU School Of Music on a Jazz scholarship program - then along came IDOL and she was propelled into the national spotlight.
Hayley is not only the album’s executive producer; she wrote or co-wrote 10 (of the 11) NOTE TO SELF tracks, including her current single Stronger (yep, “that song with the huge-wow-factor video clip”) and she's managed to come up with something original that has the potential for international as well as local success.
A sensational live talent - Hayley is humble and gracious yet also a tenacious force to be reckoned with!.
