Haynzy - Fallin' Behind The Scenes

Matthew Robert Haynes was born into an Irish and Barbadian family in North London. Haynes later acquired the nickname ‘Haynzy’ from friends and family - the rest is music history in the making...

At a young age Haynzy was drawn to the sultry sounds of gospel and soul. At only eleven years old, he began singing lead in the Young Disciples Gospel Choir, which led to performing at a number of prestigious venues, such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Cabot and the Royal Festival Hall.

Haynzy began listening to likes of Boyz II Men, 112, and Brian McKnight, still keeping the soft sounds of gospel he grew up with in his heart, and after being spotted at a school talent show for singing Jagged Edge’s ‘Walked Outta Heaven’, he began working with production company Rudo Music who helped to shape his song writing skills.

He then, with rising UK record label Blue Colla Records – began working with top international producers and talented songwriters, as well as shooting the video for his debut single entitled ‘Fallin’ Alone’. 'Fallin Alone' received much support up until and after the release making Haynzy one of the faces of Action For Children and receiving a nomination for the converted Spirit of London Award, which saw him meeting Gordon Brown at Number 10 to discuss the youth of today’s involvement in music. Soon after he received official sponsorship from Puma to not only make an impact in the UK but also go international when he performed for American independence day alongside the team of two platinum selling artists, Neyo's keys player and Justin Timberlake’s drummer.

Later this year, Haynzy has a single coming out with Jammer and Frisco as well as a single with JME. His new video entitled 'Thinking Bout Me' with Crazy Cousinz and Dancehall superstar Aidonia is receiving mass media support from Choice FM, BBC 1xtra and Kiss100. Soon to release his debut album, Haynzy is also appearing in his first movie “The Baseline” with a cameo role alongside Layer Cake and Hotel Babylon actor Dexter Fletcher.

Surely This Young Londoner is one to watch out for this year!
