Haysoos is a Maryland bred, internationally recognized hip hop artist. He is known for having a unique and powerful blend ecclectic and hardcore styles. Haysoos has proclaimed himself the "streetpacker", for his ability to relate to both a street and backpack audience.
Not only is Haysoos a master of ceremonies, but he holds a MASTERS DEGREE in American Studies and is currently an instructor of African American Studies at the University of Maryland!!!!
Haysoos (aka Doc Soos, Soosio, or Baby Doc) first garnered respect on the Washington, D.C. scene as a member of the group the Anonomous Crew. During his stint with the group, he gained experience performing across the country and opening for heavyweights such as Talib Kweli and Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest. He then lent his talents to a three man emcee collective called Father Scott Unlimited. The album earned high critical acclaim and debuted at 2 on the CMJ hip hop charts. The album spent 5 weeks on the charts, hovering above notable acts such as Eminem and Scarface. Haysoos was responsible for some of the hook writing and built song concepts along with producer Father Scott.
Haysoos went on to release his first solo 12" single "Exclusive b/w Cookie Jones" which topped both the Rapnetwork.com and Rapattacklives.com charts. His second single also topped those same charts, powered by the Oddisee produced banger "Listen Up" and the innovative, Father Scott produced, Krayola assisted "Streetbox". The single was rounded out by the smooth melodic song "Sunshine", produced by Speaks.
Haysoos's latest project is the newly formed group with Chi-town emcee Soulstice, Wade Waters. The group has a classic album, "Dark Water", which features Cuban Link (formerly of Terror Squad) and AZ of Illmatic and The Firm fame.
Be on the look out for "Standing Tall: A Life Changing Experience", the first full-length solo effort from Haysoos in 2008-9!!!
