Songwriter and Producer, H. Dubb is a graduate of the Center For Media Arts, where he received an Associates Degree in Music Theory and Engineering. H. Dubb began his foray into the music industry in the world of rap music as a disc jockey.
H. Dubb was the Music Supervisor and Composer for the feature film, “Kin*Folks” starring Maia Campbell (“Seventeen Again”, “Trippin”, and L.L. Cool’s J’s, “In The House”) and Casey Lee (MTV’s “Carmen: Hip-Hopera”, “True Crime”). Making moves in the music industry and in the film industry H. Dubb jumped into developing artist for the production company R.S.V.P. Music. He started by writing and producing the single “Hurry Home” for Polygram International Records recording artist Donna McAfee.
Pushing buttons with his musical trademark, H. Dubb landed the Music Supervisor and Music Producer credit block on the platinum comedy hit film, “Q: The Movie”, starring Brian Hooks (“EVE” UPN Network, “3 Strikes”). As Producer for the original music H. Dubb wrote, composed and produced 90% of the tracks for the film. The music H. Dubb did for “Q: The Movie” has been said by studio executives to be some of the best original music for any independent urban film at the time
Now recognized to be one of the hottest up incoming Music Producers in the industry. The use of the H. Dubb style and flavor can also be heard on his third feature film, “Chatroom”. H. Dubb laced this film by doing the musical score for Maverick/Artesian studios. Now building his resume and his camp H. Dubb has established an identifiable image for each of the artist that he works with. After completing “Chatroom”, H. Dubb postured himself and his artist in letting the movie market know that God is doing a new thang by incorporating today’s hip-hop musical flavor on the Christian docudrama, “The Trial”. Trying to attract the youth of today H. Dubb served a hip-hop musical vibe while still delivering God’s message.
As a Music Producer his hip-hop skills are raw and edgy while his R&B sound can be sultry and savory. Valuable ingredients which will be heard on the feature film, “With Or Without You”, starring Cynda Williams (“One False Move”, “Mo Better Blues”), Guy Torry (“Don’t’ Say A Word”, “Pearl Harbor”) and Wendy Raquel Robinson (“The Steve Harvey Show”).
Original Music Producer for the feature film “Malibooty” starring Brian Hooks, Kent Masters-King (“The Wash”, “Love & A Bullet”) Kym Whitley (BET’s “Oh Drama!”), Tracy Bingham (“Baywatch”) and rappers Sticky Fingaz (“Flight Of The Phoenix”, “Clockers”) and hip-hop rap star E-40. In addition H.Dubb has been told to possibly have under ground hits with the tracks “Lost Ya’ll Mind” and “Party Animal” one of which will be the debut release on “The Other Brothas Of Comedy” soundtrack. “The Other Brothas Of Comedy” is labeled as the ghetto fabulous sequel to the hit comedy film, “The Kings Of Comedy”.
Original Music Producer and Music Supervisor for the feature film “Flip The Script” stars Miguel Nunez (“Joey” NBC Network, “Jawanna Man”), Robin Givens (“Head Of State”, “Boomerang”), Jaszmin Lewis (Barbershop 1 & 2, “EVE” UPN Network) is a romantic comedy that musically embraces the mature flavor of yesterday with tailored songs like, “It’s On Tonight” to the sounds of the new millennium with hip-hop, and R&B.
Just completing tailored tracks for the feature film, “Show Stopper” in November 2005. This film is best described as “Drumline’ meets “Bring It On”. The movie stars Fuane Chambers (“Bring It On Again”, “White Chicks”), Tamala Jones (“The Tracy Morgan Show” UPN Network, “Two Can Play That Game”), Cliffton Powell (“Ray”, “The Brothers”). H. Dubb wrote and produced every track for six different featured college step groups and dance groups for the entire film, tailoring each track specifically to meet the image and style of the groups.
