Just about everything heavy you can imagine, with the exception of "castle rock" or that "black metal", you know, with the guys wearing the white make-up to look like zombies.
Headbelt is best described as just plain heavy. Just a straight-up evil groove at times and at others it's a twisted arrangement of brutal riffs. If you're into Mudvayne, System of a Down, Deftones, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Sevendust, Tool, Crowbar, and the like, you'll probably be into this as well. Mind you, it doesn't really sound like any of these bands...so if that's what you want, well, go listen to THEM. Everyone in the group has a different laundry list of influences they bring to the table, and then we create a new soup from those ingredients. It's kind of like America...a melting pot...yeah, HeadBelt is just like America. If we can all learn to tolerate each other long enough we'll achieve something special...and then go destroy everything in sight.
We like it, we have fun with it and hopefully you will too.
