Head Down is a four-member rock band from the Czech Republic, Europe.
Lucas Dio and Richard Goldschmid have met each other as children in a scout club. They got to know how the nature was beautiful and as a opposition they discovered the rock music, too. In 1996 they contacted their schoolmate Karel Halada and established a band with no name in that time. Almost immediately there was a concert coming and with this we were obliged to give our band a name. A band called Brown Underpants was coming up. This band had a raw sound and very active style and based on this it was referencing to Seattle sound. They became sweathearts in the hometown Klatovy. A huge musical creativity chased the band to recording of first demos and thanks to this the band was growing behind the border of its region. In 2002 the band renamed to Head Down and under the Avik label it published its debut called Sunbeam. After many and many concerts Richard took one year break so that he came back in 2005 to record a second disc "Up and Down". There arose a first video-clip and the band was in the TV for the first time. Because it had so raw sound, there was no commercial success coming, even if the band got its fans. After that, Karel Halada left the band because of the lack of money. His place was charged by Petr Klicka, who was a member of local metal band Promises. Head Down was discovered by West Records editorship and Head Down signed an exclusive contract for next cooperation. In 2007 rised a third album called Open 24 Hours, with a supervision of eminent musical producer Milan Herman. Song "Reality Show" is currently played on Ocko TV music channel. Head Down got a role in a czech film Bullwar.
For Head Down, year 2009 is an epochal year. The band left the West Records company and became independent. For a loss of musical and his own identity Petr Klicka left the band and Head Down had to find a new bassist through the advertisement. Soon after they were contacted by Standa Bardoun, that came together with a very talented guitarist Jakub Nejdl. It turned out this was a good move and the band adopted a second guitarist. Lucas Dio changed his instrument to an acoustic quitar and focused more on singing. The sound is getting more extensive and Head Down is becoming adult.
Currently the band is getting ready for its first Europe tour and after that it will work on new album.
