A Headphone Festival is an Gathering of Music Enthusiasts, Musicians, Designers and Listeners who wants to enjoy the Music over Headphones. The Roots of this Idea comes from a group of people from Paris, France. Due the heavy loudness restrictions in the french Capital they wanna to be able to listen to loud music.. and they invented the so called "Placard" Festival. This is more than 10 years ago. This Idea spread over the world. Since 2003 the label privatelektro decided to make an own Headphone Festival in Leipzig based on the idea of the placard Festival. The first Festivals are so called virtual Festivals for the public and a strong theme was the streaming of the music played on the Fest over Internet. The Last Festival, we did intended some modifications. We used small Radio Transmitters and streamed the whole live Event inside a defined Room. The physical location was more important and the social component of the meeting with musicians and listeners. While the whole time of the concert the audience was able to listen over 3 different possibleties: over Radios, or Mobil Phones with integrated Radio, the provided Sound-Islands who you will be able to plug into a Headphone-Amplifier (who get the signal direct from the main mixer) and of course trough mini-radios with mini earplugs, we provided at the Festival. Every Concert was recorded and some of the concerts are released through the privatelektro as high quality mp3 with a Creative Commons Licence.

the privatelektro Headphone Festival takes place from 10th August 2007 and 12th August 2007!!!
After one Year Break we decided to make a new Headphone Festival.. this Year..s Privatelektro Headphone Festival takes Place (like our last ones) in Leipzig, Germany and it will host a big broad Artist and Style Variations - from Electroacoustic, to Analog, mini Noise, Pop, Electronica, Ambient, Industrial, Noise, Laptop Karaoke, Ambient and some Electro Tech...
All the concerts will be streamed in the internet. The listening adress will be occour here - as soon we set up all the mirrors and streaming adresses.
The physical location of the Festival are the Art Space and Project Room: Kuhturm @ Kuhturmstr. 4, next to the Lindenauer Markt - for your listening pleasure make shure to bring your OWN HEADPHONEs with you!
The Theme this Year called: Sound Bath !
And we will working with that Theme (design and visual - wise) in the Venue..
We will have a everything you need plus BBQ, in the Yard and some green fresh Trees for recovering!

The fluttering of distant memories comes to life through the sounds of Francesco Giannico, whose blend of electronics and acoustic instruments paint beautiful pictures of lost times. His musical approach is described as a cinematic journey which pushes the boundaries of digital media even further by incorporating smooth melodies and gentle textures. More traditional instruments such as guitar and piano are constantly present into Francesco’s music, within interrupted structures or long and dreaming sonorous carpets.
Please join us on Wednesday (10 June) for the opening of »Black Box«, a room-filling installation containing works by Benjamin Laurent Aman (FR), Sébastien Maloberti (FR) and Marcel Türkowsky (GER).
Benjamin Laurent Aman invited the two other artists to help him actualize the as-of-yet theoretical conception of the »Black Box«.
The three artists approach the multi-layered subject »Black Box« as experimenters, thereby creating a system of tests in which events can be followed, but which also lends itself to substantiating different modus operandi. Oscillating between possible and impossible implementations, they transform notions of reality and illusion into a dimension of functional describability, while revealing the character of the exhibition space as an in-between place.
The artistic media used in this range from photographs and drawings to installation and sound. Not least of all, the exhibition is marked by a moment of ignorance, in which none of the artists are aware of each other’s intentions and strategies.
