My name is Mary Robertson, owner of HeadVeg LLC, a 100% vegan, 100% organic, 100% healthy baked goods and sweets company. My products are made with only the healthiest ingredients, and are suitable for people with dietary restrictions. Brown rice syrup and agave are my primary sweeteners, I never use white or brown sugar, which raise blood sugar quickly and then result in a sugar crash. I also bake with alternative flours, such as whole grain Spelt, Garbanzo Bean and Brown Rice flour, which are higher in protein and fiber and do not produce excessive acid in the stomach. Other flours, like white flour, act like a pasty sludge in your digestive tract, slowing everything down, and are very difficult to digest. I also use primarily coconut oil, which is a medium chain "good fat" that actually speeds up metabolism, and high-oleic, cold-pressed safflower and sunflower oils, which are high in vitamins A and E and essential fatty acids.
My mission is for people to not deny themselves of sweets. My baked goods will satisfy that sweet craving and also provide energy and stamina to get you through that hard workout or busy work day. In addition, my mission is to do away with common misconceptions about vegans, i.e.: vegans are: waifs, hippies, malnourished, weak, don't wear deodorant, don't exercise/lift weights, don't like/play sports, don't care about physical appearance/fashion...etc... |
