Out of my mind and proud of it! ^_^

About me:

Hey All!!! ^_^ My name is Ashley but most of my close friends call me Ash. I am not native but am a myriad of nationalities...a sort of heinz 57 I guess you could say. Life has sent me through a series of loops both willingly and not so willingly. Some good and some well...not so good. lol. BUT...I have learned to make lemon aide when life has given me lemons. Which is the reason why I am a sexual assault advocate, a domestic violence activist, and am puruing a career in Art Therapy. When my mom was in her had relationship for so long the thing that got me through all those years of hell was the thought of one day NOT being in the situation and my art. Which is the reason why it is so important to me. I know and believe quite strongly in its' healing and theraputic qualities. As I got older the situation began to take it's tole out on my whole life and I knew that if I didn't change I would not be heading down the right path. And some time later I met a man who literally helped me see how to make that change. To him I owe him my life and I love him dearly, to this day he is as close as I have had to a real father and in my heart that's the way it's been since we've met. What happened was he helped me change by introducing to me not only the Apache culture but a ceremony that is close to my heart because I remember and carry that experience with me everyday. It is called the Changing Ceremony, and since then I have made a choice to make this part of my way of life. With it there have been changes that have been going on for years and I can still feel take place today as a result. This ceremony has given me purpose, new life, and so much more as a result. The fruits of it bring tears to my eyes when I think of the dreams I have accomplished and all the beautiful things that have come to me as a result from it. I am a person who is very exclusive about who I share this with because I do not claim to be Christian. I don't get good reactions, so I keep this intimate detail of who I am to myself most often. I am who I am because it makes me happy, gives me passion, and purpose. Anything else than that would not be who I am but something fake or forced. I am not that kind of person. I am in simplest terms passionate, blunt, exclusive, compassionate, caring, and loving.
