“A band that really packs a punch. This is like a leather jacketed ogre stomping over a hill with the explicit intention of crushing villages and eating children. But brute force isn’t Healer/Monsters sole selling point. Vocal melodies that recall Bends – era Radiohead and subtle flourishes of ambient production add a 9th dimension to their sound. Decent, decadent and slightly deranged”.
Ric Rawlins, Artrocker---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Shades of QOTSA, especially in the bass lines and the vocals, the overall mood is more consistently reminiscent of the Pixies or a ballsier Pavement. For the most part the set is an excellent example of no-nonsense, riff-laden rock. But it’s during the quieter moments that Healer/Monster set themselves apart from their peers. Who knows or cares whether this is what was intended, all that matters is that it sounds ace”.
Alex Olorenshaw,
Gigsonair.com----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Healer/Monster subvert expectations because they are blessed with the refreshing combination of humour, awareness and - whisper it - talent - which enables them to create a sound that is very much their own and yet routed in the history of what makes great rock music possible. What we have is a basic three-piece with an intelligent, well structured set that moves from almost
introspective and thoughtful tones to full-on squalls of cathartic release”.
Kithogue----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Like all good bands Healer/Monster cement their own style. The more one listens, the more reference points evaporate with such a prominent funk and psychedelic sound.”
Mike Adams, Morningstar.co.uk------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Ambient, intelligent rock for lovers and fighters.”
Ewan Thompson, Entertainmentwise.com------------------------------------------------------------------

In the beginning:----------------------------------------------------------------------
A guitarist and wordsmith answering to the name of Russ descends a staircase into the dark bowels of a house on the Archway Road. It is boredom that has brought him here. That and decades worth of musical ideas bouncing around his head which will, if not given an outlet, probably lead to his eventual committal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What lurks in the basement is the key to releasing those ideas. A man with a beard called Steve. Luckily, he is a man with ideas of his own. Meanwhile, possibly on that very same night, another man sits behind the drum kit on stage at an unidentified toilet venue somewhere in London. His name is Sascha. He’s been here before, many many times. Luckily, he is a man with ideas of his own too. Little does he know that at that moment, his name is brought up in conversation. A conversation of plots to kidnap and assimilate, to take over the music capital of London and eventually the world, a plot to begin this beautifully terrible experiment called Healer/Monster.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one badass, funky, heavy, riffing threepiece that blasts blues into the new millennium and rearranges rock’s pouting mug while it’s about it. the idea is stupidly loud Guitar, hard beats and a bottom end designed to dislodge vital organs, all gently roasted in a common household PC.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Healer/Monster have a truly a fresh sound, the sound of ying and yang, dusk and dawn, magnetic north and magnetic south, being fused unflinchingly together. They understand that there’s a healer, and a monster, within each and every one of us and so they represent an unruly amalgamation of the two perspectives.... a heavy, funky, bluesy, piece of alt rock gold, equally at home stroking you to sleep as it is smacking you in the face. This is music created without a need to fit in to any kind of scene and often, without a decent wash.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Healer/Monster are three men unleashing their own musical Jekyll and Hyde onto the world: Russ, Sacha and Steve. They are, to a man, the thinking person’s dumb assed rock and roll satyrs for the new nuclear age.
