DO YOU DARE WATCH THIS VIDEO....ALL THE WAY THROUGH?
Music
This dog was part of an "art" exhibit...it was tethered and slowly starved to death while people wandered by. Costa Rican 'artist' (demon) Guillermo Habacuc Vargas paid children to capture, taunt and abuse this poor baby.
In that event, (in which the dog died) he was chosen to represent his country in the "Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008". It is a sad day when killing an innocent animal is celebrated as 'art'. Shame on all of you who witnessed this crime and did nothing!!!!!
*WARNING* Some of the images of horses on this page are graphic in nature and should be viewed by adults only!
All graphics made by Healing For Horses are the property of Healing For Horses and may be used with permission only and must be left in their original form.
I have created this page as a way to gather resources, information and to share with and encourage the warriors (angels) who are rescuing, fostering and adopting horses right now. There are SO many horses/rescues throughout this country in dire and desperate need RIGHT NOW, therefore I encourage you to support them so that more horses can be saved from feedlots/slaughterhouses and the unbearable torture that awaits them. There are many legitimate rescues out there (and in here) that desperately need your help, so please have a look around...
Make sure you do a thorough background check on any given rescue. There are entities on Myspace that claim to rescue/rehabilitate horses who do not in fact rescue any animals but simply take advantage of those whose hearts are moved by the plight of the slaughterbound horses. Ask questions, find out their physical location and what county they can be verified through and check their non-profit status.
Please take a few moments to read "Who I am" on my blog
This page is for those interested in the welfare of horses and other animals. Bulletins/repostings are an integral and important part of this community, therefore I respectfully decline requests from bands and other individuals, etc. who simply wish to have a forum to promote themselves. The horses come first! Thank you for understanding.
The biggest consumers of horsemeat are France, Italy, Belgium, and Japan. Horsemeat, considered a delicacy, is used as an alternative to beef. This hurts the US beef industry. Japan regulates the amount of American beef imported into the country, but these regulations are not imposed on American horse meat. Eating horses has never been an accepted part of American culture.
What’s the big deal anyway?
Both the transport of horses to slaughter and the slaughter itself is inhumane. Equipment used in the transport of horses to slaughter is designed for cows. Horses often end up trampled and injured, even dead, while being transported 24 hours or more with no food, water, or rest. The equipment used to stun the horse before being slaughtered is also made for cows. Horses are often slaughtered while still consciously alive (2,500 or more horses met their fate this way last year alone).
The following is a beautiful video. It shows some of the success stories, what we all fight for.....enjoy!
This a breath takingly moving and beautiful horse rescue video from the Netherlands (stranded horse herd NOT slaughterbound horses).
On September 14, 2007, Wisconsin activst Amy Burns sent out a circular urging her readers to go to the Baltimore Sun to join in what is destined to be one of its hottest forums ever, a war of minds over the "sport" of hunting, with emphasis on bow-hunting. While her readers began pondering, comments from the pro-hunting side came in hard and fast. "America's most-hated Anti" Anthony Marr jumped in head first, and so did leading anti-huntresses Tierra and Mamasita. Amazingly, the battle is still raging as we speak, more than two years later in November 23, 2009! The total number of comments so far has exceeded 93,000, and growing. This is a phenomenon, and destined to be a classic, not to be missed if you care about animals at all.

Westlake Center)
Please join us on the busiest shopping day of the year to
protest the killing of animals for their fur. Fur-Free Friday events will be
held all over the country, so our collective voices will have a resounding
impact. In Seattle, we will be targeting Nordstrom, which continues to sell the fur
of animals who have been cruelly killed by such methods as drowning, poisoning,
strangulation, genital electrocution, and being trapped or beaten to death.
These cruelties will stop when people stop buying fur and
fur-trimmed garments. It is up to us! We
must protest stores that continue to sell fur items and, even more importantly,
we must educate consumers so that there is no longer a demand for animal fur.
This will be a
peaceful and legal protest. Signs and flyers will be provided; you just need to
show up. Please dress nicely and remember to not wear any animal-sourced
clothing.
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Calcutta sounds like a fable in a song, but in reality, it is where John, my colleague and successor, was murdered. He was on the job for only three days when he got his throat slashed. As an undercover investigator targeting the illegal wildlife trade, especially in tiger parts, his real name was unknown, even to me, nor mine to him. We were just John and James to each other. All I know is that he was Chinese American, while his predecessor James - real name Anthony Marr - is Chinese Canadian, and how sincere he was in helping to save the Bengal tiger from being poached out of existence, while its habitat continues to dwindle due to human pressure...
Hello there my Spirit Sister, sorry that you are disappointed!!! Wish I could hang out with ya & have some girl talk to make you feel better.. Funny how some people find it so easy to disappoint the ones who cherish them the most. Oh well it's their loss. You just keep on smiling with that beautiful face & smile you have...Grab life by the horns & show everyone what your made of, that is what I try to do~
Wishing you a peaceful nite, lots of laughter, love & light~
