Heal The Hood Project

About me:

The Heal The Hood Project is dedicated to every at risk situation and social issue that has challenged everyone of us in our day to day lives. Regardless to the structure that we live in we are all effected by the issues that plague our "hoods". The Heal The Hood Project was birthed for a song entitled, "Heal The Hood." This anthem would soon get weight to a movie project that would bring together over 200 people to see the heart of God reflected in our broken communities. The power of unity would soon command a blessing/ Breck Howard would work with LaDell Beamon in sculpturing this anthem. The talents of Deremus Jones, Ashley Harris, Sheryl Howard, Kelvin "Dre" Borrows, and Joyclyn "Radiance" Henderson would sing the verses that would tell the story of brokeness in our communities with only the power of God left to bring about change. Macedonia Boxtown Choir would accompany the group on the background vocals. This would be a tremendous project to bring fullness to a video that changed into a film right before our eyes. The hip-hop version would follow with tight track production by Barry Jackson and a all-star cast of rappers which includes: Rod Dog, Big Memph, D'Voted (Passion and Purpose), J- Rocc, and Lil' Shay. The vocalists in that track would also be Deremus Jones and Trevon. This movie is set to inspire and tranform lives with the power of Jesus Christ manifested in parables. The Project was filmed by Universal Productions / Reality Films (Rahn Evans, Will Evans, Vincent Price and CJ). This journey will take you to a place that will cause you to see the need to Heal The Hood. The Foundation that was birthed from this project is designed to assist other ministries and empower them to touch the lives of youth throughout our city and country. This project will do so in ways that are creative and innovative. God is in complete control of this demonstration of yielded vessels. Selah! Heal The Hood Foundation Of Memphis along with Master P. Memphitz and many others will take the city of Memphis by storm on April 10, 2009.
