| General | reading terry pratchett novels on the train, books my friend's parents have written, lots of movies, television, comedy, comedians, improv, seeing improv comedian celebrities at starbucks, walking around manhattan, eddie izzard, the interweb, alt comedy shows, gilmore girls(!!), thinking of ways to take over the world, or at least some minor country in east asia no one would miss. i'm thinking... turkmenistan. or georgia. those jerks.
also, being a truly massive nerd, if that wasn't apparent from that list. | | Music | dave matthews band, as well as dave's friends, david gray, the dismemberment plan like crazy, mike doughty, matt nathanson, the clash, ellis paul, the stevenson, queen, the beatles, pearl jam, bela fleck and the flecktones, ben folds/five, nick drake, the shins, john mayer, !!!, ben kweller, the wallflowers, robert randolph and the family band, the national, pete yorn, the killers, caroline's spine, the postal service, death cab for cutie, bob seger, buddy holly, josh ritter... basically, i love male singer-songwriters. i just do. suck it.
oh, also late nineties alternative and classic rock.
and i also love mark mcadam, but i don't include him in the first part because he is an indie god, and not a singer-songwriter. | | Movies | great, middling and low-brow comedies of the ages. sweet action flicks of varying quality. the occasional romantic comedy sneaks in there as well, but i'll deny it. pretty much everything trey parker and matt stone have ever done--double that for mel brooks. anything and everything with johnny depp. all awesome movies, BASICALLY. | | Television | gilmore girls, pre-sorkin departure west wing, law and order (CI, SVU, Classic), the OFFICE (BBC & NBC), ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, 30 rock is fantastic, good eats, LOST, scrubs, star trek TNG, DS9, enterprise, kids in the hall, salute your shorts, hey dude, captain planet was total propaganda but it was so good, old school SNL, stella, reno 911, chappelle's show, grey's anatomy... yeah, lots at the moment. UPDATE FOR THE POST-SEASON COMING SOON. | | Books | everything douglas adams wrote :(, harry potter (books ONLY), on a serious terry pratchett kick right now. it is unfortunate for my wallet; neil gaiman, robin mckinley, edward t. hall, anthony giddens, gregory maguire, phillip pullman, the artemis fowl series by eoin colfer is really good, check it out. hyperion by dan simmons, middlesex by jeffery euginides really IS that good, the shadow of the wind, susan cooper... i am sure there are a ton more, can't think right now.

About me:
i am a comedian by night. and sometimes in the early evening. mostly, i am boring.
during the late mornings and for a number of hours after that, i am a receptionist. this merely serves to excacerbates my latent rage and socialist tendencies. i am all kinds of isolated from the products of my labor. however, soon i will be isolated from a slightly different product of my labor since i got a new job. yay!
