Influences
"There are more love songs than anything else. If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another." -Frank Zappa-----------
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix-----------------------"When you strum a guitar you have everything - rhythm, bass, lead and melody" - David Gilmore / Pink Floyd-----------------------".. I get more of a dreamy thing from the audience - it's more of a thing that you go up into. You get into such a pitch sometimes that you go up into another thing. You don't forget about the audience, but you forget about all the paranoia, that thing where you're saying, 'Oh gosh, I'm on stage - what am I going to do now ?' - Then you go into this other thing, and it turns out to be like almost like a play in certain ways" - Jimi Hendrix
Sounds Like
A clear voice, a pure new sound, a petite musical songstress…No other name could be more fitting this beautiful girl that’s become something of a legend for music lovers everywhere. Word of mouth and a grass roots story are the only wings behind this soaring songstress. The mission statement is the obvious, “Love”. The music however is a revival of Acoustic and Soul. A sweet, melty waterfall of summer-like love anthems best describes her sound. Hope's songs remind you of patient ballad by Sarah McLachian or a young soulful Sade.
She signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records, and has since been recording her Self titled Debut. Hope has written most of the songs on the album and is co-producing. This release remains one of the most anticipated Album releases! Her writing has evolved into worthy songs like, “The Rain Don’t Last” and “Leave Me In New York” a song she wrote about her love for the Big Apple.
While recording her new album, Hope, can still be found playing on 3rd street in Santa Monica where she started. Hope said, “Street performing is like enrolling in Artist Boot Camp, you learn so much about yourself and what your strengths and weakness are, you also take with you knowledge that you could never gather anywhere else". Hope’s fan base continues to blooming one autograph and CD at a time.
Hope has toured with Seal, opened for James Blunt to name a few. Her Self titled Debut on Atlantic Records, is soul-baring storytelling set to music at it's best. A Thoughtful crafted blend of string soul music, sultry rhythms and universal truths. As one of her adoring fans says, “Hope’s strength is her ability to capture the human experience and translate it into song.”
Hope, it was a blessing to see you perform at 3rd st today. Me and my boyfriend are big fans of yours and we've been wanting to see you perform live, and it was such a pleasure to hear your wonderful voice. Thanks for the autographed cd and can't wait till we see you perform again.....
