Last night I spoke to a marketing class at UNO. I found it interesting to verbalize marketing for authors. Speaking the words aloud made our situation sound bleak. As writers we are trying to be artists and create new works, but at the same time we must train ourselves to be business oriented. Make no mistake, writing is a business. Hopefully, there are now 50 business students who understand the complexities inherent in getting new books and authors into the highly competitive marketplace.
