we are Spenser Timothy Nottage and Mathem Elium, two twenty-one year old filmmakers from the San Francisco Bay Area, intent on bringing our ideas to the screen, no matter the odds. In 2004 we formed Quandary Film and Animation and for te past two years we have been working professionally as film lighting contractors on local films, TV commericals, and music videos, all around the Bay Area. All the while we have been pursuing our real passion... making movies. Every Penny we can spare from our fledgling business (and even some we can't) goes to pay for the eternally ambitious production of our own films. We made our first video together when we were 12 years old, and from then on made dozens of short films and music videos. Fueled by a love of movies and with a passion for our art, we have assembled a team of enthusiastic young filmmakers we met though our professional work and through the San Francisco State Cinema Collective.
HEART OF THE ARGOS TEASER
Heart of the Argos is a short, non profit, independent 16mm film, written and directed by Quandary. The Story is a Unique four part scence-fiction romance, filmed by a team of enthusiastic young filmmakers in an eleven by fifteen foot space in a garage in San Francisco Bay Area, California.
Heart of the Argos will be a feast for the eyes. Stages within the confines of the cramped and aging spacecraft Argos, the story zeros in on the romantic tensions between a tenacious pilot and her nonchalant but dependable crewmate, the ship's mechanic. As the two battle rising emotions and the unknown dangers of deep space, the organic life used to sustain the support systems in metmorphosing the machinery into a living ship. An eccentric setting where the human story is suported by the living space craft, which seems to reflect the subtle and delicate emotions of our small crew.
