About Heart On Fire Records (is taking a long break!!)
GOODBYE HEART ON FIRE ... I'M TAKING A BREAK!!
I have decided to take a break. And this should be a long break...maybe the end of the label. Maybe not. Maybe I'll restart this in a couple of times. I'll see.
I've spent years of giving myself into this label. I've given my money to the records I've released, to the bands I've made a show for. But that's not really important. I was putting my own person into this, into relationship, into albums, into distribution, into the things that goes around a small dedicated and DIY label. I was giving myself in this activity, in shows set up, in many things (even in my work).
But i got a negative feedback. My body reclaims myself to go back for myself. I need to center my life on me, and my familly. To take the time for all of this. To take the time to enjoy, read, talk, shoot photographs, play with kids, kiss my girlfriend, do nothing and many more other things.
Moreover I am now (and since months) in a very difficult money situation. My girlfriend does not work. I'm turning unemployed. And I have two young kids to whom I want to give myself. So i cannot keep on putting money in it...no more.
Moreover The Post is turning more and more privatized, and the economial context with the rising of petroleum prizes... all of these leeds the cost of postage to an expensive price. Believe me, paying 18 euros to send 5 LP as trade is really crazy. And that's hard to keep on going with that and get orders to the distro.
Sooo all of this, and after questionning myself during several months. After taking a small break and slowing down things...I have restart during a moment, but i realize i cannot help no more the bands I do release in a good way.
So all to say i'm taking a long break. I put the label in "standbye mode"...We'll see what lifes offers in the future!
I want to excuse myself to LOATHUS with whom I was supposed to co-release an LP. But I cannot. They're now in a bad situation you now. And I hope some labels will take part in their LP. Why not cooperative thing with many label? I don't know, see with them (or me). They are really awesome people, a great live band, really friendly guy, etc. Just help them if you can...
So guys, excuse me for the shit... Your album will be a bomb, a great release!!!!!
To the other bands with whom I've workd : thank you. That was a pleasure. Really! Spending those moments on tours (for some bands), having nice talks, creating relationship that keeps on going through the years, and for some even sharing hollidays! Thanks for all. Thanks to the dead bands, and the other that keep rocking on!
Thanks to all the band who have wrote me to co-release a record. The faith you had put in me, even If i had no more bucks left to invest. Thanks for your trust!
I won't make a thanks list now. This would be too long. Thank you all you friends. All of you of have support the label by writing me, buying a record, buying from the distro, spreading the news of the label, etc. Thanks for your interest and passion. Keep on going!
On my side, i'll stop this, and will keep the distro untill all is gone. No more trade I guess etc.

I hope to read some of you back. I hope you're not too disapointed ;-) And for all the labels of the DIY conspiracy : keep going on, and release passionate record we wanna take!!

Heart On Fire is dedicated to true independent hardcore punk music. Real DIY scene. I believe in something really alternative in these scene...Cause for me being punk is not just having that type of dresscode, or listening to that kind of music...No, for me it’s being really DIY, politically driven in mind, and really active in any scale...
