Generally, I like "indie" films, things with subtitles, documentaries, and so-stupid-they're-brilliant-movies. | | Television | Due to time constraints, I have been forced to kick the television habit. Shows I have tried to sustain viewership over include: the L-Word, the Closer, Battlestar Galactica, and The Dredsen Files, Psych, Heroes. I Netflix seasons of things. Lots o' British television on my queue as well- Dr. Who, Cracker, League of Gentlemen, Little Britain, The Vicar of Dibley, Ultra Violet, The Extras, et al.
Funny how I turned on the TV last night and failed to recognize anything that was on. I recognize the actors, but not their shows. The last time I checked the TV, Willow was on some show with Doogie Howser. The kid from "Can't Buy me Love" is a super hot surgeon on some doctor drama. IMakes me feel kinda old and lost. Better to just keep the TV off, I say. Or stick to channels that specialize in my particular interests: HGTV, History Channel, Sci-Fi, Comedy Central, and Cartoon Network. I dabble in Turner South and Spike TV, but I'm not big on Lifetime, but Oxygen has good moments: I LOVE Campus Ladies! About me:
I'm originally from Oklahoma, but I've moved around. A lot. The last move brought me to Lafayette from New Orleans just ahead of Katrina. At the moment, I am up to my eyeballs in wordy over-intellectual prose in an attempt to earn my PhD in Folklore. It's a process. For the most part, I like it, though I yearn for the day when I will finally get paid a living wage to teach and go "folking around". Until then, I look forward to those times when I get to have a little fun. Fun includes things like movies, reading, road trips, hanging out with intelligent people, dancing, live music, live theater, and whatnot.
