   About Heathen Music

Heathen Music

An independent record label based in Reading, UK. Humble beginnings over a pint in the local, genuine love for music and passion for promoting artists, an organic label that is all about the music and the people that make it was born. This led to Heathen living the dream and becoming a well-known and respected label. We want to hear from the freshest, cutting-edge emerging talent. If that sounds like you, get in touch heathenmusic@gmail.com

Rebus' The Red EP is to go on national release on April 2006, and will also be available for download for your generic fruit-based music player. Get a sneak preview of their new tracks here!

The Vice are 5 sexy young posh boys from Reading, who assult crowds with an onslaught of raw indie-punk that'll make you beg for mercy. The band released Follow White on download only in July 2007 and is still available from all digital music sites, but to wet your appetite, download single Red Light Man for free, by clicking on this link here!

4 x 4 EP is a collaboration with Broken Tail Records, Heathen Music released the first 4 x 4 EP with breakthrough tracks from artists climbing up the ranks for your hearing pleasure from Ben Marwood, Heartwear Process, Alan MX and The Wookies. Copies are still available from all good music retailers.

Die Young Stay Pretty

Started out to elivate homesickness by bringing London to Reading. In 2006, the night at Plug n Play, attracted top notch live bands, the likes of Rebus, Somebody's Mind, Mr Derry, SixNationState, Mr Fogg, The Race, The Peaks, Switches, Pink Grease, Humanzi and The Rifles. Like a phoeniex from the ashes, Die Young Stay Pretty is back - bigger, better, faster, stronger.

Now the best indie/alternative student club night and fanzine in Reading has now moved to the legendary After Dark club, every Thursday from 9th Oct 2008. None of this happy hour nonsense, we have the cheapest bar prices in town all the time. Vodka mixer £1.50, double £2.50. Playing the latest in new music with the occasional old skool classic until 2am and as if this wasn't enough we also bring the hottest up-and-coming live bands from around the UK to perform for your sonic pleasure.

Heathen produces a fanzine for Die Young Stay Pretty rammed with reviews, previews, interviews and features. More importantly, features work from aspiring writers, artists, poets, photographers, illustrators, promoters or simply people with something to say. Regardless of the topic, send it in and we will publish it. Get in touch with any contributions/feedback.

If you're a DJ, musician, journalist, photographer, graphics designer, web guru, publicist, wannabe label boss or just want to join the revolution, we want to hear from you. Please get in contact via our email below and come say hello to us on the night dieyoung.stayprettyclub@live.com or click here!

Die Young Stay Pretty podcast radio show was a bit of Tom Foolery from hosts Rob Offender and myself. Podcast 1: Exclusive acoustic set from SixNationState and interview with frontman Gerry. Playlisted Metallica, Sleep Room, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Aphrodite, Secret Machines, TCTC, Sonic Overmind, Rage Against The Machine and Gogol Bordello.

Screwball Cabaret

Heathen co-promotes critically acclaimed club night Screwball Cabaret with Rob Offender, Mike of Joey Ultra fame and comedian Jim Bowes. The night debuted during Reading Fringe Festival in 2005 at Plug n Play, after 4 friends decided to put on a night that would leave other live music nights in the shade, offering an alternative with music of all genres all under one roof in one night.

Hailed by BBC Berkshire as one of the best nights in Reading. The revolutionary club night offers 6 cross-genre acts on either the Hullabaloo stage or the HeBGBs stage. Bands that have graced the Screwball stage include Pure Reason Revolution, the mighty SixNationState, Aqua Livi & The Roots Imansion, Pete & The Pirates, Suitable Case For Treatment, Carter, Hundred Handed, The Palestinians, Through Snowy Static, Three Litre, Shorty and Kraked Sound System. Keep checking Myspace or the website for future events.

FOR HIRE!

Heathen DJs have been spinning tunes at Bandwagon, Oakford Social Club and Death Disco. We're also journalists available to hire for events, wedding and bar mitzvahs, heathenmusic@gmail.com.

Just for the hell of it (taken in Dec 2006).

See if you can spot any Heathens in AD/DC's single for Rock n Roll Train off brand new album Black Ice
