I don't really think about who I sound like, although I've been told I sound a little like Iris DeMent.
I'm a 25 year old songwriting, guitar playing mama. My chilluns both inspire me and mess with my instruments when I'm trying to play. Beautiful. I have an impossibly high standard when it comes to my songwriting. I must achieve complete and total self expression in the way of the Bard, otherwise, I'm left with a hunger. When I do achieve that total self expression, the emotions that are entangled into my songs subside a bit and knock off the edge. Sometimes the most frightening emotions float away. Complex emotions that are impossible for me to describe in any other medium are the running theme. These are a few of the songs I've written, but you may have to turn up the speakers as they were recorded a bit quietly. With the microphone that came with my computer, no less. Anyhow, enjoy.
