Where the rolling Ozark Mountains fade to foothills and eventually turn into flat plains full of cotton, 5 friends discovered that the dirt from the gravel roads they were walking didn't just stain the bottom of their shoes. Those old country roads were imbedded into their heart and souls. They decided to stop aimlessly traveling those dirt roads alone and unite to become Drifter Alley.
All 5 members of Drifter Alley have solid roots in the South, which has inspired them to take this lifestyle and turn it into country music that every one can relate to. After spending sometime tightening their relationships with each other and their instruments and writing songs about life in "The Real World", Drifter Alley set out to perform their unique style of outlaw country music. After their first show at the Guit-Down Music Emporium in downtown Jonesboro AR, a patron of the event asked Drifter Alley frontman Heath Wallace how he would describe their music. Heath answered simply with, "It's like we're in Folsom Prison, but the train we hear comin is a whole lot louder!!!". Drifter Alley music is based on traditional country music, but after they put their creative touch on it, the sound takes a two step toward the edgier side of country music.
Since December 2006 Drifter Alley have been performing their brand of outlaw country music across Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri, playing all types of venues, from small smokey bars to night clubs, as well as into the ever growing mid-south fair and festival scene.
