Chris Vine é artista plástico e músico. Estudou Artes Visuais na Inglaterra e Estados Unidos. Começou a tocar música improvisacional em sua adolescência como parte do movimento de música de “free improvisation” do RU e esteve envolvido com os movimentos de “downtown music” de Nova York e Washington D.C. no início dos anos 80, trabalhando em associação com compositores como o multi-instumentalista Elliott Sharp, o baterista Bobby Previte e o compositor Bob Boilen. Criou a banda Heat Poets em parceria com o poeta Chris Torrance baseado no País de Gales, em 1985. Vine foi guitarrista com a banda de punk jazz denominada Blurt nos anos 90. Durante este período, trabalhou como sonoplasta e compositor com companhias de teatro experimental galês tais como: Centre for Performance Research e Earthfall. Desde de 2001 está baseado em Londrina, Brasil, trabalhando em colaboração com várias companhias, incluindo a Verve Companhia de Dança, de Campo Mourão.

Thanks for the add and the kind words. I finally got back to playing live again a few years ago, after a break of about 17yrs. Dansette are a band who graced the Cardiff Music scene over 25yrs ago, regularly appearing at such iconic venues as the Casablanca Club, The Dowlais, and the unforgettable "Pub on the Mud". Predating such films as the Blues Brothers and the Commitments they played their Soul straight from the heart, warts 'n' all, paying tribute solely to the originals. I was briefly a part of the band then whilst easing a pupil of mine into the line-up. So I jumped at the chance of rejoining as a full blown member last year when the band re-formed. We try to be as authentic as possible but you'll have to decide if we do. Hasta la vista! Johnny Mac.
