The Heavy Beat uses a strong knowledge of early reggae, rocksteady and dub to put together their unique sound. Known for an impressively tight and energetic live show, many people who see The Heavy Beat can't believe that they have only been together since August of 2007. In the summer of 08 the band released "5 Finger Tunes", a 12 song demo, and is now in the studio with Jesse "Zwit" Norman(M.A.R.S working on thier debut album, featuring 15 tracks of conscious and innovative music. Jesse has done some awesome projects and it's ganna be great to see this one come together. Plans for shows in Philly and New York and eventually the whole East Coast are already underway. So make sure you stay updated. Support music you like, Seek out music that still means something.
