HEAVY NEW YEAR FESTIVAL was made by SWEET SORROW, REVERSE ENGINEERING, PSSE and KUD FRANCE PRESEREN, to have a metal party before every new year.
The festival this year is the second and we hope that we will make it to the 10th festival.
The festival was also made in order to promote our metal bands and give a chance to bands from other countries to promote them selves and play gigs in Slovenija.

BLOODFEAST
The history of the band begins at the end of 1997 in a small town deep in Western Styria. Wolf and 3 other musicians founded the band Bloodfeast. They recorded the demo MC "Herr der Herren" as early as the following year. In 1999 they slimmed down to a trio. They recorded the demo "Pain Machine", Bloodfeast became a popular live band, and were sometimes referred to as as "Austria's youngest death metal band". By changing their drummer that title was lost however, but that couldn't keep Bloodfeast from recording the demos "Orgasm Through Torture" and "Dead but Dreaming". Racing through Bloodfeast's history we now have arrived in 2003. Again the drummer has been changed and also the bassist, and to the end of the year they strenghened their "guitar front" again when James Blood joined the band. This line-up, one of the most stable so far, recorded Bloodfeast's debut CD "Autophobia" which was released in 2005 by PH-Music. During the two following years Björn plucked the bass strings, and left just before the recording of their latest album "Mea Culpa" which started in January 2008 at Studio 66 in Gleisdorf. So this time they needed the help of a session bassist to complete the album, which was finally mixed in summer 2008 by Martin Schirenc (Hollenthon, Pungent Stench). After the CD was in the box Bloodfeast parted way with Gatti, their long time drummer, who always provided just the perfect groove for Bloodfeast's music, and found an exceptional successor with Da-Vite, who will roll the drums and drive the rhythm in the years to come. Since summer 2008 they had also found Lutte, the right bassist and so finally Bloodfeast stands proud in the strongest lineup in their long career. The new album "Mea Culpa" will be released on February 25th (Ash Wednesday) by PH-Music and distributed by Rebeat. In the meantime Bloodfeast are already working on new songs for the next CD. With more than 10 years under their belt, including shows at big festivals like Metalcamp, Kaltenbach, Summer Nights, Metalfest,... and having supported bands like Behemoth, Eisregen, Nile, In Extremo,... Bloodfeast are amongst Austrias most established metal bands. They have always been expanding boundaries and exploring new paths, but even now with their current line-up Bloodfeast are growing stronger than ever and will cause quite a stir soon.
After seven years the saga continues where it left off in 1999, at the cemetery. The epitaph will be dedicated to those who believed in the reincarnation of lost souls and to those who kept hoping in their metal hearts for the rebirth of a clinically dead child.
MORDENOM
Začetek banda Mordenom sega v leto 2003, ko so Jernej Bricelj, Rok Stopar in Marjan Krajačič začeli svojo skupno pot. Po enoletnem spoznavanju in preigravanju različnih metal zvrsti, od death do progresivnega metala, začnejo ustvarjati avtorsko glasbo, vizirati ostale člane in najbolj pomembno, iskati svoj »glas«. Leta 2005 se jim pridruži basist Dušan Vukčevič in po mučnem iskanju vokalista, zadnjo vrzel, dve leti kasneje, zapolni Deni Petraš. Od septembra 2008 do marca 2009 so v studiu posneli prvenec z naslovom Agnvs Dei ter ga aprila istega leta izdali v samozaložbi. Po izdaji albuma skupina počasi, a vztrajno stopa na slovensko metalsko sceno.
GONOBA
Gonoba so 5 članska Tehnična Thrash/Death Metal skupina iz osrednje Slovenije.
Trenutno so v fazi snemanja svojega prvenca >Chains of Ignorance<, izdali so pa že dva demo posnetka.
Skupino sestavljajo Branimir Tkalec (bass), Rok Capuder (bobni), Mitja Prelovšek (kitara, Matjaž Jurjevec (kitara) in Matic Babič (Vokal).
Skupina si nabira izkušnje z nastopanjem že od začetka leta 2006, od takrat so igrali na številnih koncertih z bolj ali manj znanimi skupinami.
HELLCATS
Hellcats je ženska Heavy Metal zasedba, ki sta jo leta 2003 ustanovili sestri Saša in Sonja Zagorc. Zaradi majhnosti slovenskega glasbenega prostora sta kar nekaj časa iskali glasbenice z željo po igranju in ustvarjanju v obsegu težkometalnega glasbenega žanra. Kljub vsemu jima je uspelo. Do danes se je zvrstilo kar nekaj samostojnih koncertov, med drugim tudi v Orto baru v Ljubljani. Predstavile so se na RTV Slovenija v oddaji TLP, kjer so igrale v živo, na Festivalu kreativnih kitaristov v Kranju ter na mnogih motorističnih srečanjih, tako v Sloveniji kot v tujini.
Hellcats so dokaz, da so visoke petke in Heavy Metal dobra kombinacija, kar potrjuje tudi odziv publike.
So ena redkih ženskih zasedb, katerih skladbe so v celoti njihovo delo.

Spletni portal RockLine (www.RockLine.si) v sodelovanju s postojnskim Rock Cafejem organizira natečaj za neuveljavljene skupine Epic RockLine Contest, katerega namen je spodbuditi glasbene talente in jim omogočiti predstavitev širšemu občinstvu ter popestriti glasbeno dogajanje na sončni strani Alp.
Usmeritev nastopajočih na natečaju je žanrsko omejena. Natečaj je namenjen izključno izvajalcem, ki igrajo rock ali žanre, ki so se iz njega razvili (rock, metal, hard core, punk, industrial..), morajo pa imeti posneto vsaj eno skladbo!
Zainteresirane skupine naj najkasneje do 16. novembra pošljejo avtorski material v uredništvo spletnega portala RockLine (na naslov info@rockline.si). Skladbe prijavljenih izvajalcev bo pregledala in ocenila strokovna komisija. Zasedbe, ki bodo dosegle zadovoljiv nivo kakovosti, bodo vključene na glavno tekmovanje, ki se bo začelo v četrtek, 3. decembra v prostorih Rock Cafeja v Postojni!
