After the demo Nightmare's release (2000), Hecatombe started to play together, working hard on new songs. During 2001 and 2002, the band stayed focused on Demo 2002's release, which started to show the world who Hecatombe really is. After some gigs, websites and magazine reviews, such as Rock Brigade (Brazil), Roadie Crew (Brazil) and metal.it (Italy), the band started to play all over the state, making new fans and getting experience. Hecatombe won the Lavras Rock Festival (Lavras do Sul, RS, Brazil) twice, as 2º best band (2001) and Best Show (2002).

Then the five focused all their efforts to create a demo that could really spread Hecatombe's message, songs and compositions. So, in the beginning of 08, they come out with Hate 'n Rage, which broke a lot of boundaries to the band. Hate 'n Rage increased the official website visits average, reaching more than 1.000 monthly visitors. Because of Hate 'n Rage, a support page was created in Germany, reaching more than 100 people in about a month. Dust to Dust, the first promoted song have hit the airwaves, playing all over the world, mainly in the USA, been played in radios such as KNAC, UCLA, nvasionradio, Pixie103, between many others. The song splitted the broadcasting between mainstrean bands, such as Metallica, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold and many others, getting a lot of compliments from the DJ's and the audience. Right after, Hecatombe joined the Cocaine Rocks Contest, created by Cocaine Energy Drink and Redux Beverages, both owned by, between others, Fear Factory's Raymond Herrera. The band have reached the semi-finals, which was a top ten between more than 160 bands.

As Hecatombe is such an energetic band, and as their shows are usually very intense, the band decided to show this side of the story in a DVD, titled Crossing No-Fly Zone (2009). The DVD was shot inside an airport's hangar. Well, at least the first part of it. The second part was the footage of the audiovisual EP Forcefulness, with six new songs, shot at ACIT Studios, in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil.

The target now is brake new boundaries, and to this the band is starting to prepare their debut album. Hecatombe's lyrics are intense, sometimes straight, sometimes enigmatic. Their energy and rage is coming out. Their modern hard rock/metal shows that.
