About me: I am an artist, photographer, producer of art parties and curator of art and music. I grew up in Tampa, Florida and was always creative as a child. I was a painter for a long time, and always dreamed of a life in NY as a famous painter as a teen in the 80's, and becoming part of the "Factory" someday. After Warhol's death, and due to ongoing family battles, I briefly gave up on my dream and lost interest in painting, and got really into music and going to see bands, which was when I got very interested in photography. I started out shooting rock photos and developed into experimenting with more creative things using photography as an art medium. I got a solid foundation in photography there in Tampa, under the instruction of the best around, Suzanne Crosby. After she taught me all she could, believing in me, she wrote a letter of recommendation for me. After a portfolio day in Florida, I applied to the school that showed the most interest in my work- the School of Visual Arts in New York. There I was offered a Chairmen's Merit Scholarship for photography, which was a rare and huge honor (only 10 students per year were granted this award). I moved to NY within a couple of months with the money I made selling my work off the wall at the local coffee shop, and by cashing in my 401K from my receptionist job, with noplace to live, nowhere to work, and never having been to NYC. I didn't know anyone, I just went. It was the most frightening moment of my life, but also the most liberating and life-changing. I lived at the Gershwin Hotel for my first several months in NY. And that's when my life really began...
This is my personal profile for all my friends "IRL" and potential new friends. If you'd like to be considered for this "position", please send me a message THEN add me, don't just add me. And don't ask me to add you because you are too lazy to read my profile. the answers are all here. If you want to add me for networking purposes, that's fine, but please do it on my other profile here: www.myspace.com/bluegirlproductions! Thanks!
If you want to add me but dont know me, it's pretty easy to find out my last name if you don't know it!! ;) (ahem! Look down there!! Derrr!) And, if I am not worth making an effort for, don't bother. You're not friendship material. I have higher standards than that.
Love, bluegirl
If you are a model who is interested in working with me, please be interested for the following reason: You love my art and want to be part of it. I don't pay. It's not because I don't think you deserve to get paid for your time, costumes, and effort but you ARE getting "paid". Just not with money. You are getting to be in a piece of art that I created (and chances are you will get more work after working with me, many of my models have told me they have, but still- besides the point). I worked hard and for many years to accomplish what I have. What I mean by that is not "who" I am according to how much money I make or how much press I've gotten (which is way more than the former, by the way, heh). But who I have evolved into as an artist. All of the education I've gotten (that I still pay for EVERY MONTH! Yeah, I got a scholarship, but I'm still paying for my school before that! And, the scholarship didn't cover everything either!) and more notably, all of my experience is what I am talking about. That takes time. You can't buy that. Not to mention my creativity that I was blessed with... that can't even be learned. All the $$ I put into quality makeup and sets and equipment is beside the point. I find it extremely disrespectful that a MODEL who has had no training, and paid nothing to LEARN anything, merely USES me for her vanity's sake so she can show off on My Space or wherever and show the world how pretty or "cool" she is. If you AREN'T "that" model, of you are truly interested in being my muse and creating ART with me, please feel free to contact me. I don't mean for this to sound disrespectful in any way. I appreciate my models so much. Without them, I would be nothing. I couldn't make art without models. And I know that modeling is hard work and costs money, and it takes a certain talent too. I realize and respect that. But if you plan on just making MY art into your own version of what you think it should be, then do me a favor and don't bother contacting me- EVER. Or if you plan on not sticking to our deal, or complaining about it later, get over yourself - just leave me alone and don't waste my time. I don't deserve to be disrespected that way and I don't want your energy around me. If you are a TRUE MUSE who loves art, and loves and respects creation, and respects the artist, please do contact me, I want to meet you. And I shall respect you too...

To all you Gene Loves Jezebel fans, Michael Aston has done it again. He has contacted my space and told them that he has the trademark (ILLEGALLY) so they have taken down the original Gene Loves Jezebel's my space page ILLEGALLY!!! We need you to have the current url for their NEW page to advertise their upcoming US and Brazilian tour which starts this weekend!!! Please go to myspace. com/genelovesjezebeluk and add them as they have lost over 7,000 friends and two years of hard work!!! We need to build the page back up as quickly as possible, so PLEASE take this new information and repost it on your page!! Let's get this done and prove how much stronger we are together, and how Michael can NEVER take away the ORIGINAL Gene Loves Jezebel's loyal fans!!!!! Also please message me if you can asap for the Gene Loves Jezebel Meet 'n' Greet Sunday June 29 before the Safari Sam's show in Hollywood. It's gonna be at Red Rock Bar and Grill at 8782 Sunset Blvd. in the upstairs lounge before their sound check, and will be around happy hour. The time is still TBA, but will probably be between 5-7 pm, so please stay tuned for the exact time closer to the date!! Thanks for your continued support!
