About me:
Hi, my name is Heidi Ohlander, and I am a professional blogger, as well as a personal muse.
Becoming a Professional Blogger By Accident
I have been a blogging as a hobby since 1999, but I did not become a professional blogger until 2006. In 2006 I wanted to share my passion for healthy eating and raw food. With my husband JS we created the now popular website called Raw Food Right Now.
RFRN provided me an opportunity to showcase my writing skills, and share my passion for delicious food. After starting RFRN we had articles featuring us in magazines, and soon I was asked to start writing for publications located all around the world.
Time To Get Personal
After devoting all my attention to one blog and one topic for over two years, 2008 was the right time for me to start my own personal website where I could talk about my interest in personal development as well as share my interest in the topics of creativity and being supportive to creative people aka "being a muse".
What is a Muse?
Seven years ago I had an epiphany that the best term to describe my life work was to be "a muse". Just as a musician creates music, the life purpose of a muse is to inspire - to specifically inspire a particular artist, or to be broad and inspire everyone they meet. I inspire many people in my life - I offer encouragement and support to JS, my husband; I also love to inspire everyone around me with my positive outlook on life and my vibrant zest for living.
There is no University Degree in Muse Arts...
I am college educated, but because of illness I was never able to finish my University degree. Instead, I have been pursuing what I call the "University of Life". I have been reading, researching and applying thousands of books of knowledge in a wide variety of subjects, and have taken part in many educational courses and programs. As I work with others, I am learning too. I constantly work on being the best I can be.
Personal Development for Creative People
There have been many famous muses in history, and many of them have had successful careers of their own - in photography, real estate, art, etc. For me my profession is writing. And currently my favorite medium for my work is the Internet.
I created this website with the purpose of helping three types of creative people; Artists, People who Care For Artists, and The Newly Creative. HeidiOhlander.com is a place to learn how to find your creativity and keep it, what to do if you don't feel creative or if you're stuck, and how to enhance your life using existing personal development methods. The information found on HeidiOhlander.com is meant for those who look at life in a right-brain way; flowing and non-linear. HeidiOhlander.com is also for geeks and smart people who might appreciate my unique way of looking at creativity and personal development in a way never seen before.
