What is Organic?
Organic means our coffee is grown with no fertilizers, pesticides, or
herbicides. It also means that the coffee farmers are using responsile
methods of farming which will protect the health of their land and water
for years to come.
What is Fair-Trade?
Fair-trade means we pay our coffee farmers a just, livable wage for producing their coffee, no matter how low the market price goes. In addition, our green coffee-purchasing cooperative provides farmers with low-interest loans at the beginning of the growing season when they need it most.

Heine Brothers' Coffee is proud to be a founding member of Cooperative Coffees. Cooperative Coffees is a green coffee importing cooperative, comprised of 24 community based coffee roasters in the USA and Canada, committed to building and supporting equitable and sustainable trade relationships for the benefit of farmers and their exporting cooperatives, families and communities. We strive to promote Fair Trade and sustainable development alternatives in both the North and the South, while continuing to sell the highest quality coffee on the market. Breaking New Grounds
Heine Brothers' Coffee is also pround to be a founding memeber of Breaking New Grounds. Breaking New Grounds is a sustainable pilot system to transform a plentiful waste product into a healthy, living soil, create neighborhood gardens, nutritious food, sustainable jobs and teach young people how this simple process can give birth to amazing possibilities.
