Advance Praise for Helen Killer #1!
Chris Sims from "Chris' Invincible Super-Blog"

"For every Tales From the Bully Pulpit or Five Fists of Science, there are other projects that fall flat because they take themselves too seriously and try too hard to come off as grim and badass. So while I’ve been pretty outspoken in my support of the concept, I’ve been withholding judgment on the actual product.
Now, though, I can say it with certainty: Helen Killer is awesome. Consider this a wholehearted endorsement from the ISB, and if the rest of the series can live up to the promise of the first issue, then this is unquestionably the first great mini-series of 2008."
Jim and Lee from "Comics and...Other Imaginary Tales"

Lee: "I have to admit I am surprised at how well the story is set up. Usually, the smaller independent writers are still learning their chops and the story tends to be choppy. Such was not the case here...Helen Killer keeps it simple and we are rewarded with a fun read! I give it a solid A."
Jim: The art was also very strong. Good solid layouts and designs for each page...a lot of good detail and a strong ability to convey emotions. Matt Rice is a new name to me, but for a first effort this was a superior job...Another element that impressed me about his work is that he is equally at home with brightly lit scenes as well as dark scenes. Becky Cloonan and Eduardo Risso mixed together...a good story that takes historical figures and puts them into a fictional story and it has strong art work to add icing on this cake. Helen Killer is a winner!"

"The detail shown in the art is amazing, it looks like you're really transported back to that time as you're reading it...I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, and whether the shadowy figure on the last page will succeed in his determination to create chaos. So far, the first issue has offered an interesting premise, and I'm also eager to see more about Helen's life, her personality and what she can do with the Omnicle device. Grade: A-"
