GeneralPeople. Writing. Music. Long mountain walks. Reading. Celtic legends. Yoga. Cooking - I'd rather have friends to dinner than go out for a meal.
MusicDragonfall. Eddi Reader. Cat Stevens / Yusuf. Fleetwood Mac. The Poppies. Feeder. Nat King Cole. Greenday. Bing Crosby. Razorlight. Duran Duran, IT BITES, Automatic...What's that coming over the hill... I like good lyrics and a hummable melody. I've been singing for as long as could make a noise.    Helen Aileen's Blurbs
About me:
So who am I? I'm a novelist, singer, songwriter, adult tutor and language officer. The "biogs" will tell you that I'm the lead singer with "Dragonfall" and that I write the lyrics and co-write the music. They may also tell you that I was a finalist in BBC "End of Story" in 2004. That tells you WHAT I do - but not really very much about WHO I am. I would say I'm a lucky person. I believe in higher truth, love and being kind to people. My family and friends are the most important thing in my life. I enjoy my life. I have wonderful students who gets teach me more than I teach them. Things I wouldn't enjoy life without include my family, friends, music, literature and my beloved Welsh mountains. I live in the most beautiful country on earth!

My first novel "The Emperor and the Butterfly" is available now from amazon and, by now, scores of other websites.

It is inspired by the ancient legend of Macsen Wledig but set in modern South Wales.

"Sensible Elen longs for love until she finds herself torn between two suitors - sexy, but shy student teacher Rhys and mysterious Mac, an older but charismatic Italian businessman.

Mac never loses. His wife, his secretary and his competitors are twisted around his little finger. And now he wants Elen, quite literally the woman of his dreams.

But in this first novel from BBC End of Story finalist Helen Aileen Davies, dreams can turn to nightmares and sometimes the real world is far more perfect than a fairytale...

A gripping tale of Wales and Italy, modern and ancient, love and revenge. A smart and charming must-read."
