Influences	Very broad: Classical stuff - Debussy, Chopin, Ravel. Progressive rock, 80's electro-pop, especially OMD. Love dance music too. Lots of female songwriters - Kate Bush (of course!), Tori Amos, Annie Lennox. I've been told I sound like Shania Twain but I think that might be stretching it a bit! Or as a caretaker once told me, "Ooh, you sound just like that Celine Dion". If I did, I might be living it up in Las Vegas as well - judge for yourself :)

About Helen Gray

I've been writing songs and composing music since I was 13. However, my high school debut playing the maths' teacher's newly built synth was scuppered when the music teacher lost the scores for the orchestra! Aah, fate is so fickle.

I'm all grown-up now (occasionally) and currently working on tracks for an album. Hope you're enjoying my all-new demos. Many thanks to Axis and Steelworks Studios in Sheffield for great sessions.

As we are spending a lot of time in the studio at this moment, as well as recording a brand new music video, we are performing very few dates this summer. Sheffield Songwriters Circle	Feb 25 2008 2:45 PM NEW FORMAT FOR SONGWRITERS CIRCLE NEW FORMAT - On the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month we will be runing a Performance Open -Mic night. We will provide a PA system, and mics and welcome singer-songwriters who wish to perform. VENUE - from 7.30pm - 1Ipm in the Bar at Burton Street Foundation, Hillsborough Sheffield. Entry is FREE and its great chance to hear new music as well as perform and network with other songwriters in the area. On the other Wednesdays in the month, we are going to hold 'Network-Evenings' . These are opportunities For Sheffield musicians to meet up and try out new material , get comments from fellow songwriters, make new contacts and who knows even start new musical partnerships. These evenings will be from 7.30pm - 10pm .
