Helen has been writing songs since the age of 10. After completing a choral scholarship at Cambridge, she spent some time working with a jazz band in Africa. Returning to the UK, she released an album through Decca/Universal with her band “Honeyriders”. She won Best Newcomer at the Marlborough Jazz Festival in 2005. “Be Myself” is taken from her first solo album, “Helen J. Hicks” out in June. Download of “Be Myself” out on May 28th.
