About Hazlitt - back in London rehearsing for SALT
Here's all the formal stuff....
I was born near the legendary town Glastonbury in 1980, and began singing at age 2, growing up in a musical house with a music teacher mother and a guitarist father. I began playing the violin aged 7, and loved music from a young age. Whilst at school I worked with teachers from the world famous Kodaly School in Hungary.
I have an unusual voice for a female soprano - with the qualities of a boy treble - which adds an edge to the usual soprano songs. I favour early music styles, latin and italian languages, and I'm inspired by composers like Vaughan Williams, Clint Mansell, Michael Nyman, Faure, Tallis and Tavener.
I'm hoping to work with some new composers and producers in 2008 to record an album of solo material. I also work with London Bach Choir, and the Mediaeval Baebes.
But really the most important thing to me is to prove that classical is as valid as any other genre, I can shout all I want but this is the good stuff.
The biggest thank you's go to Hywel jenkins, who taught me mostly everything I know about music for fifteen years, Colin Rendell, for letting me roam free in the school music room and generally being the most energetic man I ever met, and my Mum and Dad for putting up with the horrible noises that violins make before you can actually play them properly.

kwl kwl well erm after this weekend at the goulash festival, we are playin on 5th harrow on the hill bar called trinitys, 6th uxbridge pub called the crown and treaty (thats a really good venue) 7th ruslip bar called sweenys. maybe playing the barfly in a weeks time il keep u posted on tht. p.s if u hav any gigs in london let me know would be ace.
sweeet cant wait reserve me a copy!! yer found one....found one to many lol. u no when u look for somethink u find more than u were bargaining for lol. i found one band after the other :S. now im just in the one an were doin really well supported underground heros weve gt a festival up in watford this weekend next weekend we gt camden barfly an two other gigs week after should be recordin. its all hapenin at the mo doin really well. hozs urself doin ?
