'...Hella Cholla make unashamed fun, spirited music and their sparkle is absolutely infectious. Combining a sense of humour with more serious topics is a great feat and, as the lyrical content to "Apostrophe" - which is less a song about punctuation, more a droll extended metaphor - shows, Hella Cholla do it so well. Musically, they have much the same ethic: instrumental intelligence mixed with pure pop goodness. A very nice balance.'
Frontwoman Hannah Yadi is a skilled vocalist with some powerful and soulful pipes to her name. The band are extremely tight and together; Will Betts, Yadi's creative ally, contributes some great punchy acoustic guitar chordal work as well as occasional vocals which compliment Yadi's style

'Skiffle imbued jazz boho acoustics get strumming slickly as a cool chick does a warmly warblesome neo Winehouse thing most admirably with her vocal chords. Actually she has a lot more of Nelly Furtado about her singing voice than La Beehive, but it's a markedly soulful instrument any which way. ...this here Hella Cholla vibe is a jazz vibe fo sho Daddio...Carmel, could be a reference point- she did this kind of thing back in the 1980s. Contemporariliy you could relate this to Kooks/ Macabees territory....ironic indie pop lears tunefully outta the swingin' sass.... All this from a mere duo! Fabulous.'

'...timeless and universally endearing. Yadi's voice is infectious, to the point of jealousy. And Bett's competency on the guitar strings the soulful voice onto a jazzy and catchy thread. Hella Cholla write and perform songs that you can sing along to by the final chorus on the first listen. And silly dancing is unavoidable....expect the size of the venue to grow fast, with their impending popularity...'
Henry Smith, The Sanctuary

'Hannah certainly captivates and is a little firecracker as she constantly bops about the small stage utilising the microphone prop to its full advantage'

Oscar Wilde once stated that “I always like to know everything about my new friends, and nothing about my old ones”. Of course there is a waspish humour within such a remark but it also focuses upon one of life’s great delights: New stuff. New stuff. Whether it’s a relationship or a pair of socks or a delicious, shimmering piece of Youreyeslie gorgeousness you can’t quite beat the chemical high that stems from beholding something new, surprising and unknown. The website has been updated with nothing but newness. So head to youreyeslie.com and take a wander through our cyber-Parthenon, exulting in the awe inspiring, humanity-affirming creations of the Youreyeslie design team. And then, once you’ve satiated your eyes make a couple of courageous clicks and take a little piece of the museum home with you.
