Singer, musician, composer, lyricist!
Originally starting out at the piano, then completing an education as a classical recorder player, Helle Hansen has since contributed to her own 8 solo albums (more than 50 albums altogether, from duo to bigband) as a singer, musician, composer and lyricist, as well as a vocal and instrumental arranger and producer.
A 7-time "Honorable Mention Award"-winner in the U.S.A. Songwriting Competition (2002-2008), in the Jazz, Latin and Lyrics categories, Helle Hansen's merits also include the song "Experience", recorded by Andrew Strong and Danish singer Jette Torp on Torp's platinum-selling debut album. But Helle Hansen has also written a great number of songs (more than 500), for other artists, as well as for her own many and different constellations.
As a composer and lyricist, Helle Hansen has been much praised by the press, and has received four Danish music awards. Her music contains references to jazz, soul, bossa nova, blues, folk, rock, pop, classical music, as well as the American singer/songwriter tradition, and is largely unconcerned with genre and trend.
Her latest album On The Verge Of Falling (jazz, soul, pop, crossover) involves a jazz combo, a string quartet, and various other constellations.

Uden at vide hvem der fører nej-stemplerne, så er de eddersparkeme ikk' for knø'we. Og det ved du også godt - ellers vil jeg meget gerne tampe det ind i dig, når jeg er færdig med at tampe nej-sigerne for at sparke min heltinde. Eftersom jeg ikke har en snøvs forstand på musik, kan jeg kun tale fra et ubegavet hjerte, som helt enkelt er så inderligt taknemmelig for at du ikke er født omme i USA eller er flyttet derover; det ville være så 'nederen' for Danmark. Tak for den dag jeg opdagede dig, dit talent, din person og din evne til at nå ind under huden, så man kan både synge, smile og tude på én gang.
