In the spring of 2006, Lansing, Michigan singer-songwriter Bethanne Siettas had the season’s antithesis — fallen, decaying leaves, warm colors and countless life challenges — in mind. Hello, Autumn became the vehicle for the outpourings of 27-year-old poetry fanatic Siettas’ thoughtful mind and creative heart via intimate guitar riffs and intense lyrics. Armed with an acoustic guitar, laptop, a small studio apartment and frustrated neighbors, Hello, Autumn evokes relatable human emotions — from happiness and sadness to joy and pain. Hello, Autumn’s seven-track DIY-influenced EP, Force the Collapse, captures the tumultuous feelings produced by unrequited love through tracks including “Flirt,” a tale of socializing at the bar, while recent songs like “Over the Moon,” a story of intense heartache, break through the perception of love being comfortable and perfect. Inspired by artists including Neutral Milk Hotel, Cat Power, Kimya Dawson, Tilly And The Wall, Jenny Lewis, Azure Ray, and Cursive, Siettas took her act to the stage in support of voter awareness for her first concert at Oade’s Hidden Camel before the 2006 election and plans to continue performing at open-mic nights in her hometown of Lansing. Thriving on interpersonal connections, support from friends and fans and the ecstasy and peril of everyday life, Hello, Autumn continues to evolve from the rawness of homemade demos towards aspirations of a full-fledged band while keeping supporters close to the heart. Siettas plans a full-length album for release in late 2007, solo or not.
Best of luck on your endeavors in the maddening world of music. Let us know if you make it down to Arbor land; so we can come to a show!! All the best! Chris~
Hello, Autumn,
It would be lovely to come and play there...and you never know, maybe someday we will play there.
Great tunes, and many thanks for your nice comment.
Cheers,
Matthew (At the End of Summer)
i hope its at least fun.
i've got bits of songs that i've either written for gox4 and nothing has happened with and then theres stuff i knew that wasn't for gox4, so i guess they're for this.
there'll be stuff soon.
the first 50 people to buy the CD will recieve a limited edition with unique album art (each one is unique and different from the others!) that will undoubtedly be worth billions of dollars in no time so that you can re-sell it and buy a sweet yacht...or something.
just wanted to make sure you knew the "moth" preorders are opened up at shake it records , and that if you preorder it you also get a free 7" vinyl picture disc with a new song and a signed poster.
also, as a final added bonus for preordering, we will conduct a seance and channel the ghost of your great great great great grandfather, who we will then send to your house. it will be awkward, because there is really no reason for him to be there, and you'll know it, and he'll know it.
thank you fer the kind words and masonproper people all hope you have a lovely, grey, frigid yet suspiciously snowless michigan holiday. as i m sure we all will.
