Frampton, drawing influence from other successful instrumental acts such as Maserati and Mercury Program, consist of a duet between Nathanial Brooks (formerly of The Ascent of Everest) and Mat Greg Daniel (formerly of To Sail). Combined the duo create a pissfart of relaxed beauty, inviting, but never demanding.
Frampton transcends the usual post-rock cliches by demonstrating a boundary pressing boldness in songwriting not often seen within the genre. Though technicality and precision never impress me in music as much the overall quality of the product, it is impossible not to address the level of skill executed in their performances with Brooks's jazz-influenced jams decorated by Daniel's ellaborate noodling.
I recommend this act for fans of Don Caballero that usually hate bands that sound like Don Caballero. A true breath of fresh air for the instrumental post-rock genre, like a wet warmth on one's person.
