MoviesAnything visually and musically stunning. Plot only requires a reasonable effort made. Movies are for escaping. Reality I have.
I will say that I recently saw Donnie Darko for the first time, and recommend you do the same. It's a slightly creepy head trip via the dark side of quantum theory.
TelevisionLet's just say the shows aren't important, I love DVRs, but am always trying to watch less TV. Not having a DVR anymore has helped.

TV on DVD is a different matter, and the pride of that collection is the entire series of Invader Zim. -[8D)><

Hey...you know what's missing here? Video games! I love playing 'em. Just starting on the current generation of consoles with my PS3, and I finally got a Wii, but I still get use out of the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. The 360 can wait, especially considering my aversion to poor quality. At the end of the day, it's Microsoft, and that's a dirty word in my house. Not much of a PC gamer; I can't really afford upgrading for the latest and greatest graphics demands, anyway.

What games do I play? I have a couple of favorite franchises; #1 forever being the Driver series. I didn't just own the first one; I OWNED the first one. I also love the Ratchet and Clank series, and Destroy all Humans 1 and 2 are entertaining, if a bit simplistic. Pretty big fan of "M" ratings, typically vampire/horror (except Fatal Frame; I hated that--all these ghosts want to kill you, and your only defense is a camera? I've never felt so helpless), although anything that lets you shoot with a scope is fun in my book: I have BloodRayne 1 and 2, Rainbow Six: Lockdown, RE4, Eternal Darkness, and Legacy of Kain: Defiance. Devil May Cry 2 and 3 are fun as hell. Throw in a couple of racing titles: GT3, Kinetica, and--oh, yes--Mario Kart Double Dash. I do not understand why that game is so endlessly fun, but it is. The PS3 games are expensive, but I do have Resistance: Fall of Man (same folks that make Ratchet & Clank, and the weapons reflect that), and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The interesting thing about that last one is that my partner, who has always regarded the controllers as "too complex" and been content to just sit and watch me play for the last five and a half years, has taken over the PS3 in pursuit of RPG goodness. I'm now convinced that anyone can be sucked in; it's just a matter of the right bait. I also have Rainbow 6: Vegas, and I just picked up Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and it indeed feels like you're playing a Pixar movie. For the Wii, I have Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the first of the series I'll have played since the NES original, Metroid Prime III: Corruption (Is it me, or is the humble colon a mandatory component of video game titles anymore?), and--oh, yes--Mario Kart Wii (almost mandatory, then).
BooksFew, lately. More before. In high school, I could not put down any Dean Koontz story until I had finished it. Hell, until the last few years, when did I not read? Not sure what happened...I regret to inform you that my primary enjoyment of literature comes from web comics, namely, Sluggy Freelance and Cyanide and Happiness.

About me:
I like to think I'm pretty smart, but catch me before coffee and you'll find that amusing. I've spent the last ten years figuring out myself well enough to do something with me, and am finally starting college. Yeah, I could've before now, but that would just have wasted my time and someone else's money. It takes a certain amount of maturity to admit you don't have enough.

I write music; mostly electronica, and almost never with lyrics. I'm a horrible lyricist, but every few years I come up with something good. I'm also a licensed amateur radio operator; I've wanted to be since I was a kid, and I finally got around to it in 2008. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, do ask. More people need to know, because in addition to it being a great hobby, amateur radio -- more commonly known as ham radio -- provides essential services to the community in times of crisis.

I also believe I am going to enjoy photography:

If you want to be on my friends list and don't know me, send me a message. I'll think about it.
Who I'd like to meet:
Real people. Real as in genuine and sincere. Where friends are concerned, quality reigns supreme over quantity. That pretty much goes for everything else, too. If you're a dick because your treatment of others like shit substitutes for security, fuck you. If you're a dick because you always say what you mean and mean what you say, and just aren't good with tact, good for you. There's a subtle but valid difference between rudeness and candor.

To name names, though, I would specifically like to someday meet Brian Transeau, Trent Reznor, Stephen Lynch, Billy Joel, and Tommy Emmanuel.

Oh, yeah, and the creator of the

Big News! Bodhi and I are planning our legal wedding ceremony for Sat. Feb. 23rd, 2008. We will forever celebrate on the day we were joined at the Gathering, but are excited to announce the family event. Bodhi's mom is coming from Florida! We hope to see you there! Call me or Bodhi or msg us for more details, time/place are still in the works, but we are planning for that weekend for sure.

Much love!
James
