With an internationally released album under their belts and a desire to play more often to a wider audience, the band Rogue Sharks decided to assemble a consummate rock outfit consisting of its Tasmanian based members now known as Hell Raising Riff Hogs!
(Rogue Sharks lead singer Blair Jones resides in Perth, WA, so original gigs are currently few and far between).
The band “Hell Raising Riff Hogs” is founded as a tribute to the musical influences that shaped the heavy guitar based rock band that is Rogue Sharks.
Covering seminal heavy rock bands such as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Kiss and Motorhead, the scene is set for a journey through rock history visiting the likes of Motley Crue, Krokus, and Accept to more recent bands including Foo Fighters, Audioslave and Monster Magnet. There is a definitive tribute to Australia’s rock legacy with thumping four-on-the-floor grooves from The Angels, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets and maybe a volt or three of AC/DC!!
The Hell Raising Riff Hogs took the bold move and agreed NOT to include “party favorites” or regurgitated “old faithfuls” in their set list. All songs are chosen for signature riffs, groove, and legendary status and are delivered with a professional rock sensibility that guarantees involuntary nodding of the head and tapping of the feet.
This band also provides an avenue for the boys to generate more income to finance the next Rogue Sharks album.
When asked about the increase in patients at the Hobart Proctology Unit, Doctor Ethan R. Thole stated that "not only do the Hell Raising Riff Hogs potentially cause their listeners ears to bleed but also appear to be 'tearing them new arseholes' as well"!!
