My name is Helly. I have no middle name.

In a nutshell, I was born in Germany, raised in Southern California, and educated in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I spent 4 years on active duty with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and am now working as a software engineer. I have a 5-year-old son, Todd, who is both an angel and prime mischief-maker, but I love him nonetheless :-)

And of course, I have a variety of favorites and interests that are outlined in their very own section to the left, so this section can be kept fairly brief!

    Reading, swimming, tennis, hanging out with my friends, playing on the computer (duh!). Mother Nature and I do not get along, so if I must do outdoor activities, it'll be at the beach! :-)

    Just about anything that's not rap, heavy metal or some similar genre.

    ACK!  The music is TERRIBLE! LOL.  Karoake versions of songs that I've known for years often mangle the music--I'm going to have to practice at it a few times before I actually record a version for people to hear.  The beat is a little SLOWER on this, and on my two trial runs so far, I end up AHEAD of the music, because I am used to the CD version.  Give me some time. :)

    Oh and I think that's exactly what the problem was with the mic, so thanks for that!

    How the HECK do you manage to sing any songs on the karoake here?!  I've tried for 2 days now, installed the correct player, got my mic all set up correctly again, but when I am supposed to start singing, there is no music in the background!  I can't make it through the entire song without the background music, I need the little cues here and there because the lyrics go by really fast, lol.  Am I doing something wrong?

    I favorited yah, and listened to Calendar Girl--it was pretty good!  You can always tell the people that know the real words to the songs though, because sometimes they don't QUITE match with what the computer TELLS you to sing, lol.  I'm heading to bed soon, but I promise to look up your other sites a little more frequently than I am now and see what you've been up to.  Maybe I'll give this karaoke thing a whirl myself in the next few days.  I hope they have my signature song.  Do you remember what it is?  ;~)

    I am SOO bad with all those new sites like Tumblr and Twitter...I hardly ever remember to check them.  I mostly just log in here now and play a few games, like I USED to do..elsewhere, lol.  So...when do we get to hear some of this karoakeing?  ;~)

    Hehe, the most amusing part to me was that I actually did a few of mine yesterday when I saw Jenna's yearbook photos, but I didn't get around to posting them til today. It's just a shame that I couldn't find a pic of myself smiling straight at the camera, LOL. Oh well--mine was tricky though---my glasses did not work out so well on many of the male heads, especially the ones that already had big thick glasses on, LOL.
