You may wonder “Why the name?” It is very simple, really…Sierra Leone has two seasons…One is rainy and the other is dry. We found that the rainy season is a constant struggle for the people of Sierra Leone. Roads are impassable, labor jobs are difficult to find, and disease is rampant due to the stagnant waters. Malaria and Typhoid Fever deaths are at their highest peak during this difficult time. We remember leaving Sierra Leone thinking that hope and new life needed to “Rain Down” on the people that lived there. That thought, in turn, gave birth to “The Raining Season Foundation”, a new meaning to a desperate situation. It is the goal of all who support this cause to “Help Hope Rain Down” on the children and families that deserve a chance to reach their dreams.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide a hopeful future to orphaned children and impoverished families in Sierra Leone, West Africa through meeting basic necessities that include: Housing, Nourishment, Education, and Small Business Grants. The Raining Season also works to provide grants and networking support for those wishing to adopt from countries within Africa.
