Staying alive!
Due to persecution as a dangerous pest animal following the European colonization of the Americas, and continuing human development of my habitat, my species has dropped in many parts of our historical range. In particular, we were extirpated in eastern North America, except an isolated sub-population in Florida; we may be recolonizing parts of our former eastern territory. With our vast range, we have dozens of names and various references in the mythology of the indigenous peoples of the Americas and in contemporary culture.
Music
My human friend is putting music into my ears. It's the West, the Orient and the Americas, it's Africa and the Middle East... all different flavours and sounds that help me understand what humanity is about...
Movies
My human friend has a passion for documentaries rather than fictions.. she loves human beings who go out there trying to understand others with a true interest in informing and creating awareness..
Television
Books
These were quoted on something called Wikipedia... there are not so many specific to my species but my friend will keep looking...

My human friend is a keen reader, although she is aware that there is never enough time to explore all those writers she has been told about. I hear she likes writing herself... but she keeps it private :)
Heroes
The people who take care of me and work hard on making my life as happy as possibly at EL Puma - Posadas/Argentina.
Also all the people who care about endangered species like mine. We need help... now... before it's too late...
She will, here again, add people who inspire her as friends, when..... :)
About me: I am a Puma!
a mammal of the Felidae family, native to the Americas, I am alarge, solitary cat who has the greatest range of any terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere other than humans, extending from Yukon in Canada to the southern Andes of South America. An adaptable, generalist species, I am found in every major New World habitat type. I am the second heaviest cat in the New World, after the Jaguar, and the fourth heaviest in the world, after the Tiger, Lion, and Jaguar, although I am most closely related to smaller felines.
And these are my Asian Friends
My human friend went to work with them at the WFFT last august 08

Who I'd like to meet: Any prey within my reach!
I am territorial and persists at low population densities. My personal territory sizes depend on terrain, vegetation, and abundance of prey. While I am a large predator,I am not always the dominant species in my range, as when I compete for prey with animals such as the Gray Wolf. I am a reclusive cat and usually avoids people. Attacks on humans remain rare, despite a recent increase in frequency.
Sorry, it's my nature :(

Thanks for the add, "El Puma"! Have you seen the lions eating vegetables? Off course we hide meat in between that green stuff, they had a lot of fun playing with the crates :-)
My personal favorite on my myspace? No doubt Xandro Leima, a great singer and personality!
Pumaaaaaa! Thats a Dragonfly that passed by my house, and let me get some cool shots. How are you? Hope that good human friends are treating you well. Cya around. Cuidate.
Together WE DID IT! Development Stopped! With Your Help, we were successful in raising enough money to purchase 80 acres of land that was scheduled for housing development! That brings the Sanctuary's footprint to 240 acres of open land dedicated to large-acreage natural habitats for Lions, Tigers, Bears and other rescued animals! Thank you so much for helping the animals! Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has! Margaret Mead
All of us here at the Wild Animal Sanctuary want to thank you for responding to our urgent need to stop the development of a significant portion of raw land to the north of our Sanctuary. With your help, this 80 acre tract of land (shown at the top of the picture to the left) will now be spared from becoming an endless sea of houses... Instead, it will remain a natural habitat and be used as a buffer to help us keep the ever-growing urban sprawl from forcing the sanctuary to move. Glitter Graphics
Como va Puma? I see friends are growing, good. Nice clip on the profile!!! ha. That "kitty" playing can pull your finger out, they are strong in deed. See you around, take care people.
