Helslakt est l’ignoble avorton de cette société moderne, se masturbant dans sa propre décadence et déféquant sur sa propre corruption, il est le fruit purulent de siècles d’ignominie. Contrastant avec la scène « Black Metal » actuelle : trop propre, trop conforme, trop puérile et trop ridicule. Nous ne cherchons aucun élitisme ni aucune pureté, car seule la crasse que nous représentons, nous humains, est authentique et pure. C’est donc uniquement au cœur de nos propres vices, défauts et penchants bizarres que réside l’inspiration qui se répercute sur notre musique et nos textes.

Literally, Helslakt means « massacre ». We give two meanings to the word “massacre”: psychic and physical. Spiritually, Helslakt represents the annihilation of all bases, all stability and all rules: a procession where once-respected ideas and landmarks are forsaken. If you want to “integrate” Helslakt, you cannot “look like” you belong to any subgenre of people. You must renounce all forms of fashion, mould and models: a great “NO” to all that is preconceived and polished. The Massacre therefore illustrates the fierce will to reach this negation. Only when your mind is freed of all principles can you really immerse into Helslakt, strip yourself naked and let your lust express itself, unshackled. The physical sense represents the “political” aspect of Helslakt, our philosophy put into practice. Our leitmotiv: the erasing of the “Hurban” race. “Hurban” embodies all that enslaves, weakens and corrupts Man, that is to say, the attachment to material values, drugs, the need for “ultra-comfort”, the importance regarding artificial relationships (all things official, legal etc.), the over-repression of instincts, religions, ideologies... In physical actions, we advocate the destruction of all things urban, because the urban is the antonym of the nature, and what is against nature leads Man to his ruin. The “H” in “Hurban” is an obvious reference to “Human”, but what it really underlines is what is inhuman. “Helslakt is a great bestial dance, during which each grotesque impulse, each strange appetence and sick lust is raised in triumph under the foul banner of decadence”. [Here] Everything is based on irony. We wear ridiculous outfits while performing because that’s how we see people taking themselves seriously, on stage or in the streets, lost to the paramount “trend”: grotesque. We mock these bawlers belonging to small groups, thinking themselves important and superior to those who alien to their “clan”. They are truly puny, too decadent (with declining minds trapped by weakness in dogmas conceived by others) to really think and live in an autonomous way. It should be known that Helslakt is not a band that, gifted with no talent nor personality, amuses itself in parodying others’ work. We elaborate our music with credibility and authenticity according to our own conception. We bear a deep esteem to those who were and maybe still are able to produce a sincere and intense quality Black metal
We denounce and discredit bands with no skill, self-proclaimed extreme and underground, who bear satanic symbol without having any knowledge on the subject and thus feel they belong to a powerful movement and claim it on their myspace, when they are and represent nothing!
Don’t you feel the total ridicule trembling through your PC’s stereo or hi-fi when listening to these bands’ “work” (most of the time using badly programmed drum pc)? It epitomises everything Black Metal should not have been and yet these “musicians” are the first to claim their “trueness”. I can but imagine the state of spite felt by Black Metal pioneers when they realised what had been done with their art. Helslakt respects these creative originators, without trying to resemble them, steal their music, and even less idolize them. Helslakt is not Satanic, not Nazi, and does not claim to play Black Metal!
