Sounds Like
"...as Hemiptera, Jennifer Clemente and Yanni Ehm incorporate thousands of microscopic sounds into expansive, teeming environments. Gradually modulating mid-range beats shape a modest bed for mutated wood-block pops, spectral synthesizer wisps and lingering high-end pings.
The throb's persistence is narcotic, inducing the listener into a wide-eyed lull that—focus softened—causes the surrounding sounds to seem that much more wondrous. An excellent late-night escape." (Grayson Currin, The Independent)

As Canadian-US duo Hemiptera, Yanni Ehm and Jennifer Clemente are in heavy persuit of the art of reduction.
Exploring future-bending minimalism through mostly improvised Live-based performance, the duo has been influenced by outré techno innovators -- drawing upon two lifetimes of following ambient and IDM, dub, house and minimal techno.
Hemiptera regularly contributes to Canada’s Pertin.Nce netlabel, including a full-length: “Home on the Strange” and a curated compilation for charity: "Thanks for Tomorrow". In Spring, 2009 Pertin.Nce released the Metanoia EP, a collaboration between Hempitera and Bleupulp.
The duo has made appearances at North American festivals, Light in Winter in Ithaca, NY and SignalFest in Chapel Hill, NC, as well as club nights in Canada and the Northeast U.S.
