If you watch the 1st Matrix during the part at the end when Morpheus was being held down in the chair... The conversation between him and the agent is something to focus in on... The agent was speaking from the role of an higher spiritual power saying things like "we(humans) had our time and didn't do well so now it's their time to take over". Basically speaking on the since that the devils during this era are different then in times past being that they completely take over the subjects body and control their will. We're now like puppets being controlled by puppet masters. Each side has their own destiny that they're trying to fulfill. Just like in ancient times when their were false prophets for Baal. Well they still have those prophets these days but it's just that they project their visions for the world to see via hollywood and infusing it with sorcery and what not. Movies like Matrix, I Am Legend, Terminator, etc. are all prophecies that they're banking on. It's just that they're attempting to use us to spiritually re-create or by putting out the visions the feel we will spiritually re-create the movies and bring them into reality... Just look at the communicator from Star Trek of the 70's and now check out our cell phones. lol
