Formed in the Spring of 2000, Henry Fool released its self-titled debut album through UK Progressive label Cyclops in October 2001.
Created around the nucleus of Tim Bowness (No-Man), Stephen Bennett (LaHost), Michael Bearpark (Faultline) and Peter Chilvers (No-Man, Brian Eno), the band’s music has also included contributions from drummers Fudge Smith (Steve Hackett, Pendragon) and Andrew Booker (David Cross, Peter Banks), and saxophonist/flautist, Myke Clifford.
Comprising an imaginative combination of 1960's/1970's Progressive influences (Gabriel-era Genesis/Pink Floyd), contemporary Post Rock textural experiments (Rain Tree Crow/Radiohead) and powerful group improvisations (King Crimson/Hatfield & The North), Henry Fool's debut release marked the start of an ongoing series of albums creatively fusing elements of collective improv and formal composition.
A second album is currently being prepared for release in 2008.
I'll second the previous comment; Henry Fool 2 would be most welcome (I'll expect the double concept album housed in a miniature vinyl gatefold sleeve)!!
it was a pleasure to play with some of you last year in Norwich, and it's a pleasure to meet you again on Myspace too! We are all waiting for a new album..
