Apres 25 ans d absence, les Flying Padovanis , ‘the kings of instrumental rock’, comme les appellait la presse anglaise, se reforment.
Avant d entamer une tournée en Angleterre qui commencera le 4 mars au borderline à Londres pour la sortie de leur album ‘ three for trouble’, Henry Padovani, Paul Slack et Chris Musto, prendront possession de la scène du réservoir le 29 février.
Les héritiers de Link Wray, plus rock et plus méchants que jamais, ne laissent aucun doute quant à leurs intentions : récupérer leur couronne de ‘ROIS DU ROCK INSTRUMENTAL’.
After 25 years absence, the Flying Padovanis, "the kings of instrumental rock", as the English press would call them, are reuniting. Before they embark on a tour of the UK that will start on 4th March at the Borderline in London for the release of their album 'Three for Trouble', Henry Padovani, Paul Slack and Chris Musto will take possession of the Reservoir stage in Paris on 29th February.
The heirs of Link Wray, more rock and meaner than ever, leave no doubt about their intentions: regain their crown of "KINGS OF INSTRUMENTAL ROCK"...
In December 1976, Henry Padovani lands in London, with the idea of spending 2 weeks. He will not leave. In january 1977, with Stewart Copeland and Sting, he sets up the band The Police. Meetings, rehearsals, tours, hard times and split after Andy Summers arrival and a short venture as a quartet. In his stride, he joins Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, then with Chris Musto and Paul SLack sets up the Flying Padovani's, and plays with everyone that goes on a stage, from Pete Townsend to Kim Wilde, From The Jam to The Pretenders.
In 1984, Henry Padovani joins IRS Records, Miles Copeland's label with whom they launch REM, The Cramps, The Lords of The New Church amongst others. In 1994, he becomes Zucchero's manager who goes and sell more than 10 millions albums during their 5 years collaboration.
After 2 years of sabbatical, rest and reflections, in 2002, he decides to take up his guitar again and writes the music for director Jean Henri Meunier "La vie comme elle va" produced by Jacques Perrin. This movie will obtain the SCAM AWARD for the best creation documentary in 2004. In 2003, he starts to write and record at home a series of songs for an album.
In 2004, he starts the recording of the album "A croire que c'était pour la vie" (When you believe it was forever) produced by Yves Aouizerate where he sings and surrounds himself with his fellow musicians Sting, Stewart Copeland, Manu Katché, Steve Hunter, Glen Matlock, Chris Musto and others.
In autumn 2004, he opens a web site, www.henrypadovani.com and hurried up by the surfers of the Police community, starts to write real life stories on the birth and the life of the legendary band as well as his life during the blessed period of the London New Wave.
In 2005, Henry finishes the recording of the album "A croire que cétait pour la vie", finishes the writing of his musical adventures, past and present, which now constitute a book "Secret Police Man", collaborates on the production of a road movie directed by Jean Henri Meunier illustrating the 15 songs on the album.
He continues to write songs and manages to write and record music for Jean Henri Meunier's new movie "Ici Najac", "A vous la Terre" (Najac speaking, over to you the Earth) to be released on the 31st of may 2006. The movie was part of the Cannes film festival official selection 2006!!!! And so the two of them will climb the red carpetted stairs wearing smokings!
April 25th 2006, the release of the book "Secret Police Man" on Flammarion.
May 31st: release of the movie "Ici Najac, à vous la terre".
May 2007: The release of the record "A croire que c'était pour la vie" on in the USA.
October 1st, 2007: The release in France of the record "A croire que c'était pour la vie" on Milan Music / Universal.
Henry Padovani has started to play dates by himself, solo on electric guitar., sometimes with his friend Mickey Blow. on blues harp.. you can see him also with the Flying Padovani's. and plans to do the summer festivals with them, and other dates in france, you can also see him sing and play with his friends from Shelby., michel and lionel, and he has just joined Sting, Stewart and Andy 2 nights on stage at the Stade de France .for a rocking ' next to you' on the 28th and 29th of september in front of 160,000 screaming fans.
