    Born in Recife, (PE) Brasil on May 1st, 1935 It is a name closely linked to a significant share of what good happened in the Brazilian musical scene of the last decades, such as the case of the Quarteto Novo, a group that changed the route of our music in 1967, creating and introducing a Brazilian aesthetics of improvisation into a musical environment dominated by a jazz accent. That was the moment something the scholars call harmorial movement was created. It happened at the same time as the Tropic�lia and rescued a precious facet of genuinely Brazilian aesthetics universe. Since then, it has been almost impossible to keep score of Heraldo's contribution to the Brazilian artistic and phonographic market. There were hundreds of recordings, participations in records of many artists and instrumental groups. Considered as a mandatory reference for Brazilian guitarists, a musician of unique versatility, the composer and arranger Heraldo do Monte uses many string instruments to make his music; acoustic guitar, viola, banjo, cavaquinho, mandolin, bass and electric guitar, are all used to express his mature and sensitive art.
